Rejected for Orange phone contract?

Options
My husband tried to order a phone today on an orange phone contract through dialaphone and was rejected.
We are both completely puzzled as he has an excellent credit history, a well paid job, and the contract was only for £20 a month!?

Any ideas why this would be?

The guy at dialaphone wouldn't say why he'd been rejected but said he might be better trying T-mobile instead for some unknown reason.

Really confused about the whole thing. :(

It makes no sense to guess.
It might be some small error in the data entered, but it's worth checking the credit files for something unexpected.

If it helps, we just checked his equifax file a month ago and everything was fine.

So it was problem with this company.
I ordered once a phone from one of these companies (it was upgrade!) and they treated is as it would be a fraud. Asked me for ID scan, bills, bank statemens.
Again - it was an upgrade and I provided all account details.
I cancelled order in no time, then just walked to T-Mobile shop and was accepted without any issue.

They don't make money by rejecting customers. They use the network's own scoring system and have no discretion - neither are they told why, just an accept or decline. One thing I found is one incorrect typo in the supplied details makes the system reject the application (an automatic process).

If you upgrade directly with your network, these issues surprisingly disappear!
