Or relist with no mention of Epson just the cartridge codes.
When I changed to a new model (Epson) printer a while ago I was left with a box of compatible cartridges that didn't fit the new one. Didn't think of Ebay I just put an 'advert' on my Facebook page and they were quickly snapped up by a friend.0 -
Thanks for your help sillygoose but I think I'll wait until I hear from Epson.0

Had the same through when a manufacturer forced Ebay to remove an item that "infringed copyright! (in other words, they didn't want me to sell on an item 2nd hand!) Ebay didn't back down but conceded they hadn't looked at the item in question and, in spite of having a verified owners protection scheme, they didn't actually know what the rights of third parties were. Ask Ebay/Epsom under what law they removed the item. In my experience they won't be able to provide you with one. I ended up selling my item on Amazon Marketplace instead (with no issue!)0

Ebay is a private website. They can remove what they want, they don't need a law to let them.0 -

They told me they were legally obligated to remove the item.0 -
"eBay hasn't inspected your item, and we're not experts in the rights of third parties, so we're not qualified to decide whether your item infringed the intellectual property rights of the rights owner"
Good god, what a croc!0 -
Basically a company could request the removal of an item for any reason they like as long as they tell eBay it's because someone has infringed intellectual property rights.
Maybe I'm being a bit cynical but part of me thinks it's because I mentioned that my printer was faulty in the listing.0 -
I found this from someone else who had a listing removed plus the response they got from Epson:

The important bit is here:
"The guidelines for posting an auction for Epson ink cartridges is as follows:
The auction title must contain one of the following terms to clearly identify the product.
1) compatible
2) non-genuine
3) non-OEM
4) genuine
The words "comp" or "compat" or "4" are not acceptable within the title. Also, make sure if you use a thumbnail photo in the description closely matches the auction title. For example, if you are selling genuine Epson cartridges, make sure the photo depicted is an Epson (genuine) ink product, not a compatible. If you are selling a compatible ink cartridge, make sure you are not using a photo of a genuine Epson ink cartridge."
According to this I followed all the rules given by Epson.
I know that I am like a dog with a bone with this but it's just irritated me.0 -
So in theory nothing branded could ever be sold on The FleaBay?
I can't advertise my Vauxhall Corsa, nor my Acer laptop, nor my Next chuddies. So the only thing I could sell is something like:
"Folded Paper Aeroplance crafted personally by me from non-branded paper..."The man without a signature.0 -

Someone in the world will have 'Paper Aeroplane' as a registered brand name...British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
