  • I have had a confirmed ladbrokes transaction on my account since July 2018 for £25. Ladbrokes seem to have disappeared from the top ash back website now, does this mean that my cashback will never be paid?

    Hey everyone,

@mustbemad - Them coming off site doesn't mean you won't get the cashback. Once purchases are confirmed the tracking network will raise an invoice and in line with other invoices there will be processes to obtain those funds.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

  • My dashboard is showing £6 pending, earned from HMV in December - before they went into administration. I assume that there is little to no chance that the new owners will honour this?

    Hi everyone,

@Miles_W - A tricky one and not the one we know the answer of just yet I am afraid. One thing is for sure we will do everything we can to get the cashback and if we do get any of the funds we will be sure to pass this on to our members as it's only right you get this if we are paid the funds.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

  • I’m sorry to hear about your problems with TopCashback. I have had loads of excuses from TopCasbback and wasted literally hours trying to use their deliberately bewildering website complaints “nudge” “raise a ticket” nonsense.
Vodafone are similarly useless when things go wrong.
I did have some luck reclaiming cashback owed from buying Insurance though; I discovered that rules on the selling or mid-selling of financial products includes the offer of cashback. Which meant I could contact the FOS (Financial Ombudsman Service), and was able to magically get the £70 promised and something for my time within 3 weeks. Apparently the FOS are very keen to stamp out mid-selling of financial products, and the Insurance company paid up straight after the Ombudsman threat.
TopCashback on the other hand have just frozen a couple of other payments I had in the pipeline seemingly out of spite following my Trustpilot review. I’ve given up on them now.
I’ve usually managed to succeed with polite repeated complaints but TopCashback have proved too good at endlessly sapping my energy by wasting my time.
It’s a shame because they used to be good.
  • Hello everyone
It’s a little known fact that the Financial Ombudsman classes unpaid Cashback on a financial product as mis-selling.
So just email your Insurance provider and tell them that you were mis-sold a financial product because the promised Cashback was never paid.
It’s what I did and I also told them I would be charging £5 for every email and call I made sorting out the complaint. They paid up very promptly once they realised they had no choice.
I probably should have done the same thing to TopCashback but I missed the 6 month deadline to take it to the Ombudsman.
Please spread the word, these Cashback sites need to be held to account for financial mis-selling just as much as anyone else.
TopCashback’s ‘missing cashback’ complaints web pages are (in my experience) designed to waste your time.

Just a quick comment further on just how poor the customer service is at TopCashback.

Long standing missing claims aside (still awaiting one from. January 2018 and one from August 2018) i contacted them recently about the issues with Zeek, as like many TCB customers I have converted my payouts to Zeek as they offered big bonuses.

I actually asked TCB about what they were doing to act on behalf of their customers to liaise with Zeek and its ‘administrators ‘ given that potentially hundreds and thousands of customers will likely be affected.

Their response was.....wait for it......anyone guess?

    Basically its not their problem.

Funnily enough at the same time Quidco seem to have take. Some steps, have logged customers who contact them and have also reached out to same customers to advise they have tried to contact Zeek and are contacting the administrator but awaiting a response.
I’ve even had my latest Zeek payout credited back by Quidco as they recognise i ‘would not have had sufficient time to use it’. I didnt even ask fir a refund, just representation at getting access to my purchased gift cards! Kudos to Quidco tho!

I’ll leave it to consumers to draw their own conclusions about which referral site they may prefer to use going forward.

My brother-in-law opened a Natwest account in November when Topcashback was offering £20.20 for switching. He has had the incentive paid from Natwest in February, but still hasn't received his cashback which is sitting at confirmed. He did do a support ticket, but just got the response that as you no longer deal with this company then these can take longer to receive the payment. Has anyone else actually been paid theirs?

I myself made a purchase in March 2018 from Sky Accessories which originally should have taking 4 weeks to pay and it has sat at pending now for over a year. I have submitted support tickets asking when you had last received a payment from Sky and no one actually ever answers the question, just that my batch hasn't been received and now the same response that my brother-in-law got, as Sky Accessories came off Topcashback about June 2018. When will Topcashback admit defeat?

    Hey everyone,

@youngretired - If your brother in law reached out to us we can check that for him.

In regards to your Sky Accessories cashback, I will pass this on to the team who do chase up cashback to ensure we are doing what we can to get these progressing for you,

    Best wishes,
    Matt

  • Hi Matt

    Thanks for your response.

My brother-in-law did chase on his support ticket re Natwest and has got the same response, "as Topcashback no longer deal with this company that it can take longer to pay", but now also Topcashback are advising him that even though it has been confirmed, that he might not get his cashback! How can Topcashback say that you might not get your cashback when it has already been confirmed that he took the offer via Topcashback? It's not like Natwest is going to go bust!

I have a question regarding Debenhams, I have cashback that is sitting at confirmed from a purchase made in December. Now that Debenhams may go into adminstration, will this still be paid?
