If you are saving your Tesco Clubcard vouchers to use for L A Fitness membership then do not bother. My local L A Fitness in Kettering charges £384 a year if paid in full with currently no joining fee to pay. When I asked to use the £105 Tesco Clubcard vouchers that I had collected I was told that if I wanted to use these the price now was £493 a year! In other words I had collected all these vouchers for nothing! The Sales Girl who had telephoned the L A Fitness Corporate Departmentcould not believe it herself. I had previously the telephoned myself 4 times without a reply. I telephoned Tesco Clubcard and submitted a complaint and was told to return my £105 for a refund back into my account.

LA Fitness you are a disgrace and should hold your head in shame.0

I only two people who are (well, were) members of LA Fitness, and both speak negatively about it. I'd complain to Tesco, it doesn't reflect well on them.0

I agree, complain to Tesco.0

Thanks for the support. I sent the tokens back and a seperate lettter to the Tesco complaints Department by first class recored delivery 3 days ago. As yet I have not received a refund or a reply. The worst thing probably though is that I was all set to get fit but after L A Fitness tried to cheat me I was so annoyed I popped into the shop on my way home and bought 3 large chocolate bars to cheer myself up! Thanks a lot L A Fitness.0

You can get fit for free by going for a run or even walk.0

Not surprised, I think other companies are also guilty of upping the cost when you use Tesco Vouchers. Cosmos holidays charge about £150 more for the same holiday ( I declined ) and also I think you get the rubbish rooms in hotels when using vouchers.0

Gyms are a money-making racket.
The idea is if people get signed up it's income even if they don't attend.0 -
Gyms make shed loads of money in January, people sign up to £40 a month contracts but after a couple months hardly go but still have to pay £40 a month for at least a year.
As for LA fitness, they increase the 'book' price when you pay by clubcard so they get a half decent amount back from tesco.0 -

Siblu are the same. It's never worth using Siblu vouchers against a full holiday now because you don't get the internet price, but a much higher one.
We used them for a 3-day addition to a holiday we'd booked separately, and instead of £170 it was just over £200, so we weren't too bothered as it was completely free. But if we'd booked the full 3 weeks with them, it would have cost way over the odds, and would have cancelled out any benefit gained by using clubcard vouchers.0 -
Agree and voted with my wallet.
I still use my clubcard as its free but wheras I used to use my tesco clubcard creditcard for all transacations I shifted to Santander 123 as the cashback levels are far better.
Average credit card bill is £2k (mainly work expenses - not me being frivolous) and for me the cashback is worth more than the points.
The deals have been getting worse and worse and worse. Cant see them improving anytime soon.0
