Cancelling three contract
Options
Hi I am approaching the last 2 months of my mobile internet 24 month contract in which I wish to cancel. I have been on the three website and they say to phone them but after doing some research I see that it is best to write to them with recorded delivery Giving my 30 days notice, does this sound right? If so what sort of things should I put in the letter and what address should I send it too I have had a look around their website but can only seem to find telephone numbers.
Thanks in advance

If the website says to phone them, why would you write to them?
What do the T&Cs say? If they say you need to phone them to cancel, then you need to phone them.
There may be a free short code number you can dial from your mobile.0 -
surely a phone call would not provide any evidence that I have requested to cancel?0

The call should be recorded. Also take the name of who you spoke to.
OH cancelled his mobile internet on the 6th March and it all seemed ok except that he was on the phone 20 minutes while the woman tried to convince him she was doing him a deal by charging him £4 a month more for the same thing!:mad:First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
All networks are tiresome when you get to this stage, and most put it in their T&Cs that you must phone rather than write. Three have a reputation for being the most tenacious of them all.
Have a robust script ready when you make the call, such as "we're moving abroad", "my employer will shortly be providing the equipment for me free" or "the contractee has a court order banning Internet access". I'm sure you can think of something creative.0 -
Just tell them to accept notice or you'll report them to OFCOM for breach of their licence. It almost got that far with me when I tried to cancel a Sim Zero. I'd shudder to think what cancelling a 24 month contract would be like!!!!!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

This every time! We cancelled a few years ago and I could tell it was going to develop into a right saga until I said the magic OFCOM word. Very easy transaction after that.0 -
I’ve had dealings with Three over several years and find that they are usually quite reasonable. When you call to cancel you’ll do doubt get the (lengthy) “why are you leaving / please don’t go” speech. You may get a good price for a renewal, but if you just want to leave, say that you already have a new contract.
When I didn’t renew my Three mobile ‘phone contract (only because of the poor signal in my house) they were OK about it and I actually got a refund of part of my final month’s subscription.0 -
just say youre leaving the country or moving to an area without the three signalWhat goes around-comes around0
