This is something I have an issue with : non-bought-ins!

Easter clothes gifted to the kiddos from granny, I can't just get rid of them and they are now ole enough to remember if I get rid after just a few wears

Just seen this thread! I'm in dire need of a clothing cull. Far too much of what I don't wear and in the wrong sizes. Plus as DD has just reminded me, I have too many pairs of shoes/sandals that I have never worn and won't probably ever wear.

I slop around in joggers/jeans & trainers when not at work.
At work I wore grey tailored trousers with a smart top, with boots.
On holiday I wear shorts/t shirt or a sun dress and flip flops.

Why do I have 6 pairs of dressy sandals? 5 pairs of black court shoes? 5 pairs ballet pumps, 4 pairs of ankle boots, 2 pairs knee length boots... a lot still boxed, unworn. Etc? Ridiculous.

While going through my stuff, I was saying "when did I buy this?" as I truly don't remember why or when. It just was added to the pile.

My DD has resolved to help me get rid. Bless her, she's the best xx

I was thinking of having a year of not buying any clothes but all my clothes are either blue, black or beige. Suddenly i have the urge to included bright colours in my wardrobe, mainly pink. Which is a big worry as i have never been a pinky person. Think i will stick to primark and h&m.Hubby will wonder whats wrong with me if i start going all girly.xx

I cleared out my wardrobes over xmas. Got rid of any stuff that I didnt wear, like or old and worn beyond repair. I then joined the Crazy Clothes challenge on DFW board, and set a total of zero spend for the year, I really dont need a thing and am a pretty good with the sewing machine.

I am wearing things I had long forgotten about, and upcycling other things, and generally making do with what I have. ( I have plenty)

It has actually been quite liberating really, and has bought home to me how much money I used to waste on things I really didnt need, and how much stuff in my wardrobe I still dont wear, I think they say we wear 20% of our clothes 80% of the time. Seems about right to me

Well whilst my bath was running this morning I had a wee bit of a clear out. One non fitting dress. 2 maternity tops (that I didn't even like wearing when I was pregnant and my youngest is 6 in July) another top I don't like a few belts that came with jeans that I'll never use. All in the cash-for-clothes pile

I know this is only a minimal amount but its a start

And an oops! I bought myself a top in Sains on Sat.

I am replacing the carpets in my 3 bedrooms and need to empty all 6 wardrobes. Admitedly 3 of those belong to OH mostly suits from 9 years ago before he retired ( 1 doubt that even 1 of the suits them still fit him) He also has shirts from the 70s. I am going to get him to empty and refill his wardrobes and hope he might gift some for recycling :jI cull my wardrobe regularly but have lost loads of weight so am having a real try on and sort out this weekend. My weakness isn't charity shops as when I was overweight they didn't have much choice for me but M&S online when I am bored or it is their sale. :o I must have about 100 tops & t shirts and loads and loads of jumpers and cardigans. But very few skirts and trousers as I seem to wear the same ones over and over. But apart from needing one good pair of black trousers I don't need any new clothes this year. Have also had a cull of shoes to freegle and also toiletries which I won't use to some friends. Any hints and tips to tidy or orgainse what is left would help.

This is such a good idea! I used to buy new clothes ALL the time, have cut down a lot since (she says, after buying a jumper and scarf today). My main problem is charity shops and ebay bargains - I tend to think "it's only a couple of quid, why not!" Clearly this is wrong. I must have so much stuff that I don't wear. Embarrassingly, I also have stuff at my parents house from when I was in uni (5 years ago now!)

I've cut right down this year on clothes purchases, and am getting better at only buying things I love and know I'll wear.

I have a wardrobe full of clothes, but lots of them I can't wear until I shift the weight I've put on in the last year through eating too much crap. I refuse to buy new clothes in a bigger size when I have a wardrobe full of unworn stuff waiting for me to step away from the cakes and biscuits!

Once I've shifted the weight I want to get rid of, I've promised myself to renew my undies because lots of them have seen better days.

On pretty much everything else, I work on a one in, one out basis (either rag bag or local charity).

I need to join this thread. I currently have 2 massive suitcases full of clothes that I've just bought back from uni, that I have nowhere to put due to the fact that the wardrobes (2!!) are already full, and my table is full of ironed clothes that need a home :( someone help me!
