PPC found guilty of trespass!!!

Private car parking company UKPC Ltd issued tickets on a private development demanding £100.00 for each alleged breach of parking regulations.

Tickets were continually issued to cars parked not merely in an allocated bay, but on resident's own land, registered to them at the Land Registry.

Fed up with UKPC's behaviour, residents eventually issued a court claim for trespass.

They were awarded £150 damages for trespass, costs in the sum of £ 1280.26 and UKPC were forced to give undertakings to the Court not to enter their land and not to place any parking charge notices on their cars

Very good news, I wonder what DVLA will do? BPA will just give them a light tap on the wrist, don't do it again, and then say where's your next sub.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Peter - I am disappointed at your cynicism, shocked in fact.

The BPA are a respectable body that takes its work seriously and monitoring the behaviour of members is top of its priorities. Just read the following from their web site:-
Our Mission - to actively represent and promote the sector by advancing knowledge, raising standards and professionalism, and using our influence to deliver excellence for the benefit of all.

Our new 5 year strategy outlines our core objectives:

Putting the consumer at the heart of our thinking

We believe in raising standards in the parking profession and enabling our members to provide better services for the motorist.Because only the most professional and reputable operators will be able to satisfy the rigorous compliance criteria, the scheme will enable these members to set themselves apart as operators at the level of ‘Best Practice’. Over time therefore, ownership of the AOS logo, the Safer Parking Scheme logo, and membership to the BPA will help members to provide a feeling of safety and confidence for motorists when they choose to use a car park that is identified in this way.

Now how could you even suggest that the annual subscription would in any way influence a noble organisation such as BPA? Next thing you will no doubt be saying is that they are there to represent the parking companies. Such a thought! ;)

I see that BPA are dedicated to raising standards in the parking profession. Well they could certainly do with raising. Another thing, "parking profession", what's that all about. They'll be saying that they have a vocation to issue spurious invoices next..
I can afford anything that I want.

Remembering UKPC are not strangers to courts! As defendants!
