So sorry to read of your dreadful experience what a shock to the system that must have been. However, you have been reminded that not everyone is bad and there are some great people out there, I have quite a few virtual friends on this forum and on facebook so I too wish you luck in the future I am sure it wont be long before the comping fairy replaces your lost items.

Dunno about the gold thingee Mark, I still find bits and bats missing and haven't checked that. It's only stuff at the end of the day though.
Just checked...still there lol. Gonna raffle that for the blind cats anyway

With luck they'll manage to get the lappie online then it can report home with it's tracker and tell me who they are and where they are...and I can pop round to chat with them. I'll have an interesting lampshade maybe after that ..spec if they have tattoos

Amazing, but understandable!
The work you do on facebook, the little antidotes about your cats and the occasional rant you have makes you an important part of facebook life. I just wish someone had sent me a pm so I could have joined in. I really hope this is a lucky laptop for you and that you soon refill you home with replacements for all the stuff that was taken.

Like others have said, I recognise your name as you must be 'friends of friends' on Facebook, but I'm sad and sorry to say this is the first I have heard of your situation. So sorry to hear that you were burgled
I am delighted (and not suprised) that MSE'rs/compers got together to help you out. Let's hope the comping fairy spreads her lucky dust generously to those involved and in your direction too!

Hi, I didn't know about your burglary or about Facebook either, sorry But reading your story has just given me goose bumps, a very moving piece. I'm so glad that things worked out for you in the end, and you can carry on comping again (and hopefully win back lots of great things you lost). And I hope all the wonderful people who helped you also gets lots of luck their way too - they deserve it :T:T:D

Aw Tim, I remember your post on getting burgled (believe me, I know that horrible feeling) I didn't know they took your mac and everything! I even remember you posting when you won it! There is some horrible people in the world not worth scraping off the bottom of your shoe but there are also the genuine special ones too
