Yeah I have seen a couple posted on here about HUKD but were removed.

When I saw the title first thing I thought was it is old news because it was part of the HUKD, dalselecta issue.

HotUKDeals/Quidco taking things seriously by alerting their members. That's a new approach given the contempt they have shown for the past 5 months.

The criminal element (if any) - should focus on the neglect shown by the Quidco/HotUKDeal owners. Passing this information between 'public' email accounts is asking for trouble and pretty much reflects their approach to member data/security in my opinion.

Nothing has been leaked, but Mr and Mrs Nikkel have always stuck their heads in the sand when approached with regards to matters that should be of major concern to them and their members.

Each and every visit that has exposed their weaknesses in security issues relating to the HotUKDeals/Quidco/Tipping Canoe/Dry Tinder Ltd, has always been notified direct to them, well in advance of any publication.

Rather than acknowledge, Mr Nikkel has some personal beef and therefore all matters are of a secondary nature.

I protect this information, exposing the loophooles/weak points in their systems, The Nikkels/HotUKDeals/Tipping Canoe/Quidco - aka Maple Syrup, are guilty of playing with fire in order to win over their silly little game.

Who the hell thinks member data/security issues would be a price worth paying in order for him to appear to triumph over a personal issue.

Remember, this is the same owner who endorsed his site manager to plant over 2000+ deals in the HotUKDeals site under the guise of ordinary members.

They were of course multiple aliases of current moderators. There's not an issue with sites making money out of referrals, it's a business after all. Clearly lying to your members and bumping preferred merchants shows utter contempt to all in my eyes.
  • billycasper,

If Quidco are stating that no names/locations have been compromised, then they are acting with the same contempt they demonstrated with regards to the 2 serious breaches that occurred over at HotUKDeals within the past 5 months.

Names are attached to accounts, as well as sort codes which indicated the specific branch within the Bank.

Are the Nikkels deliberately misrepresenting the facts again?
  • My final comment on the matter is that any 'criminal' investigation is just a smokescreen.

Which law do they think has been broken and where did they think this breach has taken place.

HotUKDeals for example is a company registered in the Republic of Seychelles (only since July 2010) = big black hole beforehand.

Do they seek comfort and protection from the Courts in Seychelles, Malta, Winnipeg or Berlin. It's all a smokescreen and a deflection from their poor security in place. There is no UK Jurisdiction.

As for Quidco, I offer an un equivocal statement that no data has ever been lifted from them directly. The neglect is due to the owners passing the data outside secure systems and with no proper controls.

    That to me is Criminal!!
  • Sort code would give general location, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has stuck with the same bank since I was 13 and moved away? :) Sort code stays the same.

p.s. not defending the breach. it's disgusting!

I have read your postings all over aScottishbloke and make you right and dont believe a word from them. Hopefully this thread does not get pulled as people should know
  • well if it does get pulled, we should start one again.. and again until its tackled.. It would appear the data has my name and bank details. luckily there isnt anything in it as its an old savings account.
Do we think this is a breach for financial gain or just to prove how weak the system is,.
