    Apparently !!!!ing fast.

    In truth probably not much quicker just throw it out at a higher volume.

    :D
    Wicked!
    When I am filling up, I will see if the missus can change all four wheels at the same time:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  • the pumps rate arent different to other pumps the just release more volume as the pump is is for lorrys with wider filling knecks, hence smaller filler knecks such as a cars fuel kneck would cause a flow back because the volume is too much for it to handel especially if its a small car with realy small filler neck.

    as for why did they let you use the pump, well thats all down to policy of the garage you filled up at, i know the texaco near me have a sign lorry's only no cars or vans, and they will not switch the pump on and tannoy you to move to pump xyz instead (just to make you look that bit more stupid).

    on the other hand another garage in the area (small private) that has a high volume pump for lorry's let anyone who wants to get wet and smelly use it.

    personally i would have asked for the use of the WC to clean up in and asked for some swarfeaga to use, if refused started stripping in the middle of the garage, because there would be no way i would travel any distance in a enclosed space reaking of fuel, 1 you risk getting high 2. your skin could be burnt due to the fuel on you skin, 3. could have passed out secomming to the fumes in the car even with all the windows open you the direct source of the fumes and it wont go away from you 4. you car will now need a new drivers seat aswell as mayber new floor capet as the smell although will subside you wont get rid of it unless you replace it.

    More volume in the same time is a higher flow rate!

    Eh?

    Flow rate is litres/minute ergo if they discharge for example 20 litres/minute versus the 10 litres/minute then it will be quicker and the flow rate higher.

    Throwing your clothes away is a tad extreme.

    the pumps pipe is wider, but the rate at wich the fuel delivered is not exceeded than any other normal pump, thus giving more bigger output volume at the same speed rate as the other pumps.

    think of it this way, you open your tap and the water rushes out, you put a wider pipe and tap on you sink you get a reduction in flow but an increase in volume as i.e now the water is deliver at the same rate you just have a wider stream of water wich equates to a bigger volume.

    in this case the wider flow i.e more volume, was constricted by a shorter filler kneck, think putting your thumb over a hose pipe end that has poor flow and thus the OP gets wet.

    volume = liters, gallons, m3, etc.
    speed = m/s, miles/hr, etc
    flow = liters/second, m3/min, etc.
    you seem to confuse flow with speed. A wide, deep and slow river can have the same flow as a small, fast stream as long as the amount of water passing per time unit is the same.:)
