Thanks everyone. I rang HMRC this morning and they have advised that they have all my details from this Tax year i.e. employment SSP, JSA and tax payments etc. from my current job since January 2013. They advised that they will automatically do the calculation and this will be refunded via my my current emplyment, should I be entitled to any. Hopefully, this means less work and hassle for me!! x

Do you have another payday to come before the tax year ends on 5 April? If not your current employer will not be able to do any tax adjustments and you will need to get any refund due from the tax office.

Edit Even a payday on 5 April will not help if you are weekly (fortnightly or four weekly) paid as this would be week 53/54/56
  • Hi there, I am due a payday tomorrow (with Friday being Bank Holiday) and again on 5 April - I am weekly paid on a Friday.

They might have all your details but did they explain how they are going to persuade your current employer to make a refund this late in the year?
I agree with what chrisbur is getting at - not sure this is going to happen as you expect

If the tax office have sent the details to your employer in time for tomorrow's payment then any adjustment will be in that payment.
Have you asked your payroll dept. if they have recieved details?
  • Hi all
    Thanks for the comments.
I have been paid today but not received any repayment. I will contact my payroll and see what happens now.
