Vista Versus Windows???

Kman2001

Vista is leaps and bounds better...it would be worth your while buying the laptop with vista preinstalled..testing it to see if it all works with your hardware and software..and if it doesn't it's still worth it to downgrade to xp home..and then simply upgrade back to vista with the given disc when the time is right..That's my view anyway

Not many people would go out and buy a new PC with ME/98/2000 on, so why they would choose XP over vista (when the price is the same) is beyond me.

Because you know it all works. Will my audio interfaces works - two will one won't. Will my music software work. Some will, some unsure. All my software synthesizers - don't know. My specalist wildlife recording programs - apparently not. Some of my old programs like picture publisher 7 - who knows.

My laptop just went kaput so at present it looks like XP for me.
