Not all sellers read the seller updates and aren't aware of the changes. It will take a while for some to be aware of the changes.

Just wait til the TRS seller changes come in and all of a sudden (as far as some sellers are concerned) their badge disappears!

It should be if they use mail order or shop online. It's not a figure just plucked out of their ****'s.

So where does it say the buyer should wait for the seller to initiate a claim?

It doesn't. Therefore it is irrelevant.

So it can be plucked from anywhere you like.

15 days does not factor into any Ebay or paypal claim.

eBay change their policies like the wind back and forth, I am telling you what the actual people who deliver the mail say it can take which is 15 days.

Which as has been pointed out is completely irrelevant as far as eBay or PayPal are concerned.

Really? The ACTUAL people who deliver the mail? Hermes, Collectplus, DPD, Fed Ex, RM, City Link.....need I go on? THEY may have timings that allow a seller to raise a claim BUT THAT IS OF NO CONSEQUENCE OR INTEREST TO A BUYER/EBAY OR PAYPAL.

    None.

    Nada.

    Zero.

Oh and it has NO bearing on a claim, probably because it is irrelevant.

I would not keep a buyer waiting 15 days but I do ask them to wait a bit usually depending on the tone of the email.
In this case as it just went to an Ebay case I decided to refund pronto.
Just received feedback from buyer "brill item fast delivery" - what's that all about!

Assuming you have read the responses above, you do realise all general questions from a buyer asking about their items will now open as claims?

Yes I do now, I did not know this actually - why/when has it changed!

Last week. I think sellers hoped it was a glitch, but it looks like eBay think this will help a seller somehow, so may be permanent.

  • Well maybe you aren't seeing what I'm saying or just don't get it. Regardless of what the buyer does or claims or opens case You still need to know if it's arrived after 15 dys to get your money back or stamps or whatever when you claim against Royal Mail, so you see, it's not the end of it, when a buyer opens the case. Royal Mails limit is the important one from a point of view of the seller getting the compensation and he can't do that unless the buyer responds at that point.
