Vodafone unlock iphone4 and NUC Resolutions nightmare

Hi there,

I am hoping someone has some advice for me on how to proceed with getting my iPhone 4 unlocked.

It has been over 4 weeks since I requested Vodaphone unlock my iPhone4. I have spent hours on the phone to Vodaphone customer relations, including someone in Cairo who told me nothing but lies about the process and how long it should take, and I have had two visits to my local Vodafone store.
NUC resolutions are telling Vodafone (who started raising requests on my behalf) and myself that the EMEI number is incorrect which it is not and has never been.
The Vodafone store manager thinks it might be something to do with the handset being registered to my old company (although I have owned it for over two years now), but when they speak to their own customer service departments (personal, business and corporate) no one believes that there is reason that the phone cannot be unlocked.
It is now coming to the point where the local Vodafone store are telling me that they do not think the case will ever be resolved, I am left with the prospect of having to buy a new iPhone.
Can anyone advise on how I might get my phone unlocked? Or any potential legal resources I can use to sue them? After all, this is my iPhone, and I cannot use it because they will not unlock it, nor tell me why they cannot unlock it.

Many thanks,
MWHA

who did the phone belong to the company? Also what one is on your personal account imei
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Hi MWHA,

Thanks for making me aware of your concerns.

To enable me to get this looked into further could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Use the form

    http://campaigns.vodafone.co.uk/UnlockCodeRequestForm/

That said if that phone is not owned by you but a company then it's not yours to unlock, you say you have owned it for two years, what do you mean by owned. If the company upgraded and you kept it that does not mean its yours, unless its sold or released to you it's still a company asset.

First be sure it's legally yours. It may not be your iPhone.

The fact it can't be used on all networks is not relevant, it CAN be used on the network it was supplied for.

I half remember that although Ofcom say it's best practice that mobile operators allow phones to be unlocked at the end of the contract term, there is no legal requirement that they have to do so. If that's the case there's very little you can so to make Vodafone unlock it as there are no rules that you have to be allowed to unlock a phone.
