Tenerife South Airport Transfer Advice

As in the title, looking for advice and your experiences on airport transfers from Tenerife South Airport to Los Gigantes please. Looked into hire car etc but don't really need one for the entire week and put off by experiences of those who have been stung for unnecessary extra insurance, up front fuel payments and large deposits (600 Euro)!!
2 x adults plus a 16 year old so 3 x adults really with circa 20kg worth of suitcase each. Happy to jump on a bus etc as long as there isn't a long wait and they run frequently. Will just grab a taxi if all else fails but just thought I would try and use the combined knowledge on these boards as I know there is a wealth of information and experience out there and Tenrife is a popular destination so someone will have good info in response to this request.
Thanks in advance.

Car hire needn't be a pain
Try http://www.pluscar-tenerife.com
I've used them a few times, they'll take payment via a credit or debit card and even cash, no deposits and no silly full tank of fuel to use up.0 -

Buses on tenerife are operated by TITSA see:

I believe that there are no direct buses from the south airport to Los Gigantes, you would have to change at Los Cristianos.
Full route info and timetables are at the link.
Money saving tip - buy a bono bus ticket - see:

Thanks for the info to date, will have a look at the links and suggestions provided. Any other suggestions or comments welcomed and will be researched.0

We always get transfers with resorthoppa and choose speedyshutle. Costs a little bit more than normal shuttle but you are guarenteed no more than 4 stops. Los Giganties is quite a bit away so a taxi will probably be in the region of 30-40 euros each way. Fanabe is 25 euros in a cab to give some idea of price. We paid £12 each return speedy shuttleThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

A taxi will be expensive. You might well get a rental car for a week for the price of a taxi there and back
We recently used Orlando, booked via Holiday Autos. Car was well worn but no surprises with the bill. They bus you to the office at Las Chafiras 5 mins from the airport.0 -
Thanks all0

If choosing the taxi option try pre-booking one with Easytransfers who charge 94 EUR return and let you pay half on arrival and half on departure! Just email your details to: easytransfers@yahoo.com0

Thanks for all the comments above and just thought Iwould come back with feedback post holiday.
Decided to go with resorthoppa in the end and no real problems. Wife booked and went with cheapest option which stopped everywhere so the maximum of 4 stops option (not the one we selected!!) would be best value for money IMO if you are a long way away from the airport. We were the last people off the bus!!
With regard car hire we never really missed having a car as te idea was to have a relaxing break and not do much so main target achieved. One thing I will say that should be considered is that in most areas there is a severe lack of parking so many people we met with hire cars etc had a nightmare parking and finished up some distance from where tey wanted to be. Need to add this in the mix when looking at other potential hire car issues as some said they would not have bothered for this reason alone!!
Thanks again for all the advice.0 -
personal recommendation for AutoReisen (TopCar) - usually the cheapest and no problems so far (used them on Fuerteventura too). No silly surcharges or fuel rips. Have driven pretty much all over the island and never had a moment's problem with parking. You miss so much by sitting in one place. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

Autreisen are by far the best car hire company on the island, absolutely no hidden costs.
My favourite transfers on Tenerife are https://www.suntransfers.com , used them to Los Gigantes / Playa de la Arena before, and they were fab.0
