Wifi/Mifi with no credit checks?

Options
It seems like a bit of a long shot, but here goes:

My girlfriend's recently moved house, into a place with no landlines. She has a poor credit history, but needs to set up internet access, either using wifi or mifi, because up to 3 computers will be in use at any one time. Is there any way of achieving this considering her poor credit?

  • I just bought an Huawei myfi for about £50 on amazon then pay for data as I need it from a company called giffgaff. They will send you a free sim. They have different packages called goody bags. Obviously you need a 3g signal to use this.

    As above, the simple answer is PAYG.

    Buy the thing outright and use PAYG SIMs. Will cost her £50 via Three with £12.50 cashback available via Quidco/TopCashBack.

    Unlocked Three UK branded MiFi from ebay for £42, ex display, T-Mobile 12 month broadband SIM for £24 ebay special.

    Only downside is 500MB per month limit on video streaming and downloads, browsing never stopped, even when download limit reached.

    Speed where I live is variable, 1 to 2 Mb/s during the day, goes up to about 9 Mb/s in the morning and later evenings.

    Cheapest way I have seen to be able to browse 24/7 without penalty, and connect more than one computer.

    How poor is poor credit? With 3 computers in use what amount of data is likely to be needed.. and what is that likely to cost..

    Is there any wifi hot spots nearby? shops\pubs\ bt fon points - sometime surprising what range these can work over?

    What is the reason for No landline? is it not allowed or not presently fitted?
  • You can get mifis cheaper than the above methods from CEX, then just choose between 3gb prepaid '3' sims (about £11on ebay) or the £12 giffgaff monthly bundle. 3 is faster, giffgaff is unlimited, choice is yours.

    CEX = £40.50 delivered, , plus £144 for a years Giffgaff Internet

    Total £184.50.

    Take the 3 Internet route and there is still a monthly top up fee.

    I can't see how it is cheaper??
