I've read the info one pepipoo but found it difficult because the replies are not easily listed as on these forms so you have to click on each individual response.

No - you just have to change the way you view it if it's displaying like that!

When viewing a pepipoo thread it doesn't normally look like the way you are describing - but I know what you mean! Just click on 'options' at the top of the thread, to the right of the first post. Choose to change the display options until it shows you all the posts cascading below each other, like on this forum. I think you may have to just change it to 'linear'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Today is my last day to pay the £40 then its up to £70. I think I will do what you suggest Coupon Mad and write to Aldi in the first place but then I need a really basic letter to send to PE. Lots of the examples have bits crossed and bits added and I'm not sure what I should add or what I should not? can anyone help with this. I do feel like ignoring it completely and not responding to anything but if they are starting to process people through the small claims courts and I've not made any effort it won't look good in my favour. What to do ???

Regrettably, as far as POPLA goes, I don't think you have a case, based upon what you have written unless the PPC has made any mistakes with their signs or their contract is shaky or in any other way they have failed to follow the BPA COP.

POPLA takes the position that by parking you enter a contract with the PPC and if you breach one of the PPC's conditions, you must face the contract charge. You then have to prove that in some way the PPC has failed somewhere along the line. They also believe that charges of up to £100 are fair.

They do not accept mitigation, the fact that you are a regular at the supermarket or that you have a medical condition, unless you are in some way disabled and can show that.

I am not saying don't go to POPLA - there is no downside really even if you lose and it costs them money,

Your best bet would be some backing from ALDI if you feel that ignoring is not the route for you. If they did agree to do something and gave you a copy of any email they wrote, then as c-m says, Parking Eye might give way or, if it goes to POPLA, you can say that the contract with the landowner gives discretion to the landowner and they would have to show that it didn't.
