In which case you need to keep the news to yourself for as long as you can.0

How far along are you? You could make out you didnt know I belive your supposed to tell them at latest 20 weeks but might be worth a google as im not 100% sure.
If they fire you for any reason whilst your pregnat they would not have a leg to stand on, if you took them to court for sexal discrimation you would win unless they had a very vaild reason for dismissing you i.e stealing etc.
You'd also get benifits if you dont get SMP from them.
Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and hope for the best...end day this baby is coming you might as well find out now where you stand!
Good luck xPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
It's upto you, but there's ACAS for advice if they do get rid of you, do a google search.
Tbh it must be horrible to work in such an environment, if the worst happens l hope you find somewhere better.
Good luck with your pregnancy x

Is it still early in the pregnancy?
OP will need to attend pre-natal appointments, but I'm not sure if these tend to be available out of office hours or how well she'd be able to fit them in around work without them knowing?0 -
Assuming it is desk work, can you cover up with cardigans etc?0

I don't know anything about these things but do you have any documented 'one to ones' with a team manager or anything? If you could have a documented one to one that shows they are happy with your progress before you break the news then that would surely be some protection? Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

Are you a union member? It really does make employers think more carefully about trampling over employees if they know they have professional support from a larger organisation.
I would also suggest that you ask for a review or 1:1 meeting to get your manager to confirm that you're doing well in your post. Type up some notes and get your manager to sign them off, that way you have evidence that your performance is satisfactory before notifying them.If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...0 -

You occasionally hear about women who give birth, and they had no idea they were pregnant!:rotfl:0 -
