I understand it's a really personal thing. I do wedding photo and video and while I think a lot of couples can be a bit nervous about seeing themselves on film afterwards they tend to really love seeing everyone else and all the little bits that they either forgot or didn't notice at the time as they were running round seeing everyone :) Also while we do record the ceremony, speeches etc what most people seem to like best is the 'hightlights' part so clips of the day put to different songs they've chosen - lol and several have actually said it's great because they can't hear themselves on that part!

I covered one a few months ago and the groom suffers from quite bad anxiety. I did know him through friends beforehand so made things a little easier I think but we did have a chat before and agreed with him a signal he could give us if he was feeling a bit overwhelmed with it and we would just leave him alone and go film some guests or something for a bit. Don't know if that might help at all?
  • Hey - I just want to say not to worry about it. I got married in 2011 and at the last min I decided I wanted a video, but then couldn't afford to spend the money. I decided to ask someone to film it on their iphone and then forgot!

Now I'm really glad I didn't waste the cash - I've only watched the dvd of the photos put to music twice, but I've looked at the printed photos every day, have enjoyed taking my time to put albums together and frame my favourites. There are some beautiful ones which show those intimate moments and people's emotions so well. Every time I look at the photos I see something or remember something new.

I know I'd just cringe at the video. It would be lovely to show our the kids (when we have them), but that wouldn't be for about 7 years after the wedding - and I'm sure I'll have forgotten that I ever even thought this by then!

So just enjoy your big day with no regrets!!!
