My kids love watching our wedding video - can be sad as so many people in it who have since died. They laugh at us and have a good bop round to the wedding disco at the end !!

Our video was a cheapie by a guy who had invested in the gear and wanted a wedding to practice on. He did an ok job. But the professionalism of the video was never really the point - just enjoying the bits he managed to capture was all we wanted.

Could friend film bits on mobiles, then yyou put it altogether with music in the background so you don't hear anything and its 'through the eyes of guests' ?

Its relatively easy to edit film, and do swirls etc into different shots?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Thanks Bobs, that was my sentiment, due to my OHs anxiousness we have had to have a teeny wedding and I am sad in some ways we can't share it with more people so in some ways we could do that by showing the video at our reception and to some friends we are meeting up with on honeymoon.

We've got so few guests that it just wouldn't work I don't think but it's a great idea, I don't really want to burden one or two people with the job but the rest probably couldn't do it due to having to look after children and I really want the guests to just enjoy the day.

what about a friend with a camcorder - just coming along to film a few bits not as a guest.

I hate having my photo taken and don't like watching myself on video...however about three weeks ago I decided to book a videographer. We're paying £500 for about 5 hours, editing and three DVDs which compared to some of the others we looked at is pretty reasonable.

I was worried that I'd be so nervous during the ceremony I wouldn't take anything in, same with the speeches. I don't think they're essential and I doubt we'll watch it more than a couple of times but I like the idea of showing any children we have in the future and having our grandparents that we still have captured on film.

Ultimately it came down to the fact I figured I wouldn't regret booking one but we might regret not having one. That swayed the decision for us.

That's the point I got to this afternoon. Then I decided it was unfair to force it on my other half so I spoke to him about it and he is refusing to even watch the highlights video that made me change my mind, let alone consider booking him :(. Am really disappointed that he won't even look at the video, I knew it would be a big ask because of his anxiety but I wish he would at least give it a moments thought, especially as I haven't asked for much, especially nothing that would push him out of his boundaries.

    Oh well.

We're having ours filmed as the day goes so quickly I wouldn't want to miss or forget a single moment.

JTR - I have just seen this thread - shame that your OH didnt want to watch the video - but I totally understand! We are looking to have one for our day so we can see things we may miss and watch in years to come.

If you wouldn't mind, would you forward me the name of the guy you looked up?

Oh btw, I can believe how quick your day has come around! Mental! :)
