I think the only way is to get some proof from the other side that the number was correct.0

An update - my bank's foreign service got me my money back but minus £32.99 in fees :eek: they said the recipient's account number was incorrect. I checked with the recipient and they said their account number is correct!
Is there any way I can get some of these fees back?
Did you send it in the right format? IE IBAN0 -
if the landlord gave you the wrong account number and you can prove it, for example he sent you an invoice quoting the full IBAN, he should pay the costs - i.e. you deduct the £32.99 plus the original £8 from the amount you re-send him (to the correct a/c number !).0

I suspect part of the refund will represent a loss on the buying and selling of Euros.0
