Is solar PV worth it?

Which one? You asked 2
The first is answered by simple research of the Government's reasons for FiTs.
The second is/was not avoided, I just chose to ignore it as it's a stupid question.
Now your turn.
You haven't answered my question, you just avoided the 'uncomfortable truth'. :cool:0 -

What uncomfortable truth?0 -

But that's completely wrong.
You really need to do some basic research for yourself, or absorb what people are telling you on this and other threads that you continue to fill with delusional ranting.0 -

As explained earlier, the FIT scheme was offered by the government to incentivise the fitting of solar panels with the intention of complying with an EU directive.
I'm not quite as rich as EDF who get a much bigger subsidy than I do for keeping nuclear power stations in operation. Let us know when you've sorted that issue out and I'll start worrying about my smaller subsidy.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

Are you saying that the FIT payments you receive don't come from other people? Are you saying that since your subsidized PV system was installed, your electricity bills haven't gone down?0 -

Ah, so now the argument is that because other people have their snouts in the troff, it's OK for you to have yours in?0 -

All monies that anyone gets come from somebody else.
Wages (for those that get them) come from your employer's customers. State pensions or unemployment benefits come from other taxpayers.
A reduced electricity bill is part of the incentive package offered by the government scheme.
N.B. All my MSE postings are signed with my real name and approx location. I'm always suspicious of those who have to hide behind pseudonyms.
And the remark about "snouts in trough" is absolutely pathetic. The FIT scheme is a legitimate government incentive both in the UK and many other countries.NE Derbyshire.4kWp S Facing 17.5deg slope (dormer roof).24kWh of Pylontech batteries with Lux controller BEV : Hyundai Ioniq50 -

I'm similarly suspicious too now. At first I just thought the vast number of errors and the sheer scale of them was just a gut reaction to several people disagreeing with him:Martyn1981 wrote: »By telling people they are wrong but posting numerous errors, what do you expect in response?
You claim pumping water is as expensive as buying it, (despite being advised beforehand on the correct figures) but are out by a factor of 100+.
You post ........
but the continued ill informed rants, and the inability to explain why:- subsidies paid to powerplants owned by householders is morally wrong, but subsidies paid to powerplants owned by companies is ok,
has made me suspicious too. Especially when you consider the choice of arguments, the style, the wording 'pathetic', 'strawman' etc., the use of inaccurate and now extremely out of date Monbiot references.
Then there is the repetitive error of asking questions which have already been answered, suggesting that whilst responses are being demanded, they are not being read.
[Edit: sadly, sometimes you've got to apply the duck test.]
I suspect we've been stitched up!

It seems that people are happy to try and 'play the person instead of the ball' on here, a tactic to avoid answering difficult questions.
Will no one just man up and admit that they are receiving a subsidy from people who are more than likely poorer than them in order to reduce their electricity bills, and they don't care a jot.
At least that would be honest.0
