One of my customers produces glass splash backs.
Based in Norwich but travel all over the UK (they do commercial work for NEXT retail that sort of thing).
Speak to Graham, he will be able to help if it's something bespoke you're after.

That sounds amazingly cheap, was it just plain glass? I went to topps tiles yesterday and splashbacks started around £90 I think for coloured glass. Found a few online companies but wasn't loads cheaper.0 -

I don't think you're likely to get a response to this as the poster you are referring to was last on this site over three years ago....0 -
won't hold my breath then.0

I did the same from a local glaziers and it came in at £35 incl drilling holes and fixings. still going strong 7 years later.
A lot cheaper than all the diy/kitchen places and you can have it made to measure then. This was for clear glass though. go to a local glaziers and ask them.0 -
Firstly I must state that I have an interest, as along with my Brother in Law we run dgsplashback However I am a bit fed up with some of the rubish published on these forums. I have been in the Glass Business for over 30 years and set up the new business specificaly for installing Coloured Glass Splashbacks. Since then I have installed Splashbacks to over 600 Kitchens.
Toughened Safety Glass should be used wherever it can come in to contact with heat (behind the hob, next to an oven and even where the steam from a kettle might hit it). Toughened Glass is formed, by taking the glass in a furnace up to 680 Degrees Centigrade and then rapid cooling. This means it can easily withstand tempretures up to around 480 Degrees Centigrade. As most Domestic ovens stop at about 260 Degrees, this should be fine.
It is also very important that the company supplying the glass, uses Paint especially made for Glass. There are a number companies supplying Splashbacks with just a 2 part resin Paint or even ordinary Emulsion. This will lift from the glass eventually and then just flake off.
It is possible to install Glass in one piece, up to 5 Meters in Length, it can also be made in upside down "T" shapes and once Toughened does not weaken the Glass, as is claimed by some companies, who are either not skilled enough or to lazy to produce it.
Cut outs for sockets and light switches are possible but it should be noted that all cut outs and notches in glass, require a small radius in all corners. It can not be produced with a 90 degree internal corner. So when measuring to go around cooker hoods etc, make sure that some allowance is made.
Finally check all picture's on websites carefully, a lot of companies who are not experienced in Splashbacks, obtain picture's for their Gallery from websites in Australia etc, these then apper to show work they have completed. Please do not always pick the cheapest price, make enquiries as to experiance and even ask if previuos customers would be willing to talk to you.
Enjoy your new Glass Splashbacks, they look spectacular.0
