Alas, her receipt only shows 1000 points and 32 "ordinary" points, not the double that (I think) it should have been. Even the ordinary should have been 64????????:confused::confused:

Can any of you kind souls put me right/confirm that I am right before I telephone CS tomorrow??

    Thanks

You would only get the normal points doubled, not promo points. HTH

    Hello Boots gurus

Now, took DD out today for her first Boots shop with her OWN CARD! As the card is new there was a lovely double points for two spends voucher to be used so I suggested that she bought 4 JK files and would get 2000 points that she could use for whatever she wanted in the future...... I even said that I would give her £4 for two of the files but she keep the points.

Alas, her receipt only shows 1000 points and 32 "ordinary" points, not the double that (I think) it should have been. Even the ordinary should have been 64????????:confused::confused:

You dont get double points on bonus point items. So the JK nail files count as bonus points when u buy 2 items therefore you wouldnt get double points ie another 1000 for this.

You would only get double points on the £4 spent, which would be 16 ordinary points (and with the double points voucher another 16) therefore 32. So the amount she got was right. Sorry

another thing on this leaflet, and I cant see it anywhere on the board, is a free Max Factor Summer Essentials Bag (worth £25) when you spend £15 or more on all Max Factor - says its from 20/06/2007 onwards. Bag is yellow and black, like a toilet bag, and from the picture it shows 2 bottles of Pantene, Olay complete care day cream, Olay complete care night cream, a fold up mirror, an eyeliner pencil and a lip gloss tube.

If I can get a picture up, I'll post it :o

    EDIT - heres a pic

Maybe the Max Factor GWP will scan free with anything. Didn't have one of them for ages. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I think I will ring anyway.... She should have got 64 points for double points on an £8 spend AND There is nothing that says on the double points ticket about it not being for promo points, it says can't be used on precriptions, gift cards blah blah blah!

    Thanks for the replies!

Fellow Bootsers, today is a sad day indeed. My trusty AC, of many years service, and a mighty £350 worth of points accrued, is no more.

Some ****** toerag nicked it.

Felt a bit funny when I used the machine today, lots of people around, felt like I was being *watched*. Of course the screen (massive) shows your points value to the world. I printed off my vouchers, tucked the card back in my purse, and did a few bits. Got the the checkout - card gone :confused::confused:
Retraced steps, nowhere to be seen. Checked all pockets, bag, etc over and over and over. (Feeling very very sick by now, and possibly in need of the poo tabs). Asked all SA's if one had been handed in - nope. DD had noticed a shifty chap at the AC machine so made the assumption it had been 'lifted'. So V.NICE  No7 lady phoned CS on her phone and I had the card stopped.

    Lessons learnt:

    1. Try to avoid letting others seeing the screen (tricky I know, maybe need to get a giant bodyguard??)

    2. Have a v. safe and permanent location for the AC card and NEVER EVER just 'tuck it in'.

I have to phone CS tomorrow to make sure the toerag has not purloined many or indeed any of my lovely points as apparently it takes 24 hours to update. They will send a new card ASAP, but I have a nasty feeling I'm back to square one on the AC machine offer front. Probaby just get the blessed 342 list from now on

    I am sad.
    Cupcake,
Soooooooooo Sorry 2 hear about your misfortune 2day, lets hope if some shifty character has lifted your card, he has a miserable time trying 2 spend ur points & hopefully will be mortified & lifted by the police if he's stopped @ the cashdesk by a jobsworth SA.
This is when we need the jobsworth Sa's to do their job properly eh !!!!!!!

Has anyone bought 3x bach rescue (on 3 4 2) and used 1/2price voucher? does the voucher take 1/2 off each item leaving approx 2.00 to pay for all 3, or is this wishfull thinking on my part?

Not found any reduced memory cards anywhere. Will keep searching. I'm desperate to gain 1500points, LOL

Hi I got 3 for about £9.53 so no it doesnt work this time unfortunatley
  • Cupcake...have been out of computer range all day so have just had two pages to catch up on. I left mine in the machine the other day with nearly £300 on and was feeling quite sick when i got to the till after wandering around for half an hour to realise i didn't have my card on me...thankfully it was still in the machine, so i know a little of how you must have felt when you realised. I really hope the good for nothing little runt didn't get time to use it...let us all know what CS says.
I can only say that this definately requires lots of group hugs and chocolate!

I don't know whether this is countrywide or not .....but got given a leaflet in Cardiff, Queens street branch today about the above. It says "1000 extra points for every £40 you spend" It's on Thursday 28th June between 4pm and 9pm.
Suppose that means if you spend £80 you get 2000 points back etc???....hahaha

Anyway, had a WONDERFUL time today

    2 x JK files
    extra 500 points

    then found clearance
4 x pink fcuk bubblies BOGOF
    so £2 paid

Then remembered that there was an olay voucher buning a hole in my purse so went looking for something olay

and there, sitting on the shelf, all by itself was a tube of eye makeup remover (which I need) reduced to £1!

So a total of £4 spent (£3 off for olay voucher) and 512 points

Had previously purchased a shaper meal with the 50p off coupon (morrocan cous cous salad is the dog's danglies.....)

Then went to Clarins counter clutching my page from Cosmo, not expecting there to be any freebies left - walked away with the freebie AND two other good size samples, the SA was falling over herself to give me stuff. DD's face was a picture.

Sat on train coming home tired but happy, sorting out the vouchers that expire tomorrow.........

Oh, that's great. I hope my little Boots store gets these in, I need to buy more MaxFactor foundation anyway and will steer clear of getting a bargain on eBay if I can get hold of that!
