I'm on EESA as I have severe depression and I have tried to commit suicide on a number of occassions, resulting in a broken back and 7 hosptal admissions.
In my teens I was in higher education and took out a loan, but had to depart because of the depression.
I was then put on Incapacity Benefit and Income Support, up until 11 March, 2013 when I was transferred to EESA. I'm still receiving DLA.
I have just received a letter from the Student Loans Company, stating they've been informed that I'm no longer receiving taxable income, so I'm now required to pay back my student loan. They've asked to see how I support myself.
Is this correct? I thought EESA was a taxable income? Do I send a copy of both the EESA and DLA award letters?

When I was transferred over from Incapacity Benefit onto ESA last year, I was sent a P45 by the tax people.
I am on contributions based ESA which IS taxable.
What ESAare you on? There are two types; contributions based which is taxable and income related esa.
I am not sure of income related esa is taxable.
I would fone the DWP and ask.0 -
