Tesco mobile unpaid bill

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help. For my birthday last year I was bought an iPhone 4 from tesco on their £35 a month 24 month contract. The phone was purchased in June and up until February has been cut off for a week once. At the time my mum bought me the phone, she was in a financially stable situation otherwise wouldn't have bought me it. Unfortunately circumstances changed and the phone wasn't paid. I'm aware that its entirely not tescos fault, but the other day my mum checked her bank on payday to see that the entire balance (£595) had been taken by tesco to pay off the rest of my contract. My mum got the payment back and rang them to make the payments that were late (totalling £70). They told her that the contract was inactivated and that she would have to continue paying for the contract but it wouldn't be put back on. My question is is there any way to get around this? Because they told my mum they had sent me emails but my email account hasn't been accessible for quite some time. And my other question is if there isn't a way to get the contract put back on, is my phone still in warranty or will the unpaid bill have voided that?
Many thanks for your help

The contract can be reactivated only if Tesco show some goodwill. However, they have no obligations to do this. It's worth unlocking your phone as only Tesco can do this.
Apple's warranty is 1 year and it stands regardless.
And it is wrong to think that your mum, without any savings, was in "a financially stable situation". She was not - as this story clearly demonstrates. For you this can be a good lesson for the future.0 -
Not really Tesco's fault if you don't access your own email account...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If they won't reconnect, your only option it to purchase a PAYG Tesco SIM and use this going forward. Anything else will need Tesco to unlock and I don't believe they'll do this due to the outstanding debt.0
