New bedroom tv for sky

Options
Hi,

I watch my sky box in my bedroom via a coax cable on a 15 year old tv. The tv is starting to fail -sometimes the sound does not come on.

So I need a replacement tv. I am a little confused by this but I believe I need a TV with an analogue input. How do I work out which tvs are compatible?

I am looking for something around 32" if anyone has specific model suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Will

I thought all analogue had been turned off in the UK?

I am not 100% sure about this but I believe the sky box outputs an analog signal to the tv upstairs. That's why I believe the tv needs an analog tuner.

Thought you only needed a aerial socket, that what i use on 2 tvs in my house that use coax and magic eyes.

Something like the below (I have one so know they have analogue and digital tuners) would do the job.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I know what you mean - my dining room relies on an old co-ax for the picture (i use a sender for the remote - but my internet stopped this being used for the picture).

Basically you need one with both tuners - many earlier models of digital TV's had both - or just analogue.

Check the technical specifications! You're looking for an analogue tuner as well as a digital one. I haven't heard (yet) of a TV that doesn't still have an analogue tuner built in, it's still useful for your very function, as well as, um, old games consoles, and anything with an 'RF Modulator'.
