Avoid Equifax

If you need to check your credit rating use Experian and avoid Equifax. Equifax appears to be cheaper than Experian but after signing on-line it asks you to call them at 5p a minute. It migh look cheap but they make sure you are kept hanging on for long enough so that they make money off you even before you are fully signed into their service. And then you need to wait for their e-mail reply within 48 hrs. Not practical or good service. Sick to the other one.

That's all well and good but not all lenders report to all the agencies so some people will have to use Equifax.0

I didn't need to - am perfectly happy with Equifax.0 -
I never call them and I have a £3.50 monthly subscription with them - just email all correspondence. It's bad advice to say not to use them as you should check all three CRAs. £2 statutory report is all you need from Experian and Equifax and use free Noddle website for CallCredit0

They asked for £9.99 on the website and told me to call them at 5p a minute, held me up with numerous choices of buttons to press, various offers of surveys and usual all lines are busy about 15 minutes. I could not find an option to email them.0

No problems with them at all and I have the £3.50 a month subscription also ( you take the FREE trial or normal and then at expiry or renewal ring to cancel and talk yourself into HALF PRICE subscription rates).
As for ringing them, I DON'T. I ask a question online but if you need a LANDLINE number then use https://www.saynoto0870.com which normally gives you a FREE or one that you can use with landline inclusive minutes.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -
I had no issue with Equifax.
Having a nightmare with Experian. It let me sign up but it wont let me log in. Says i've been registered before (don't ever remember this) so now it's asking me for some secret reminder which i obviously can't remember/don't know.
I have no choice but to call their 08emptyyerpockets number. Might leave it until Friday so i can hit them at opening time so i don't have to wait.0 -
