Debit Card with saving account

Options
Is there any bank account that offers a debit card instead of a cash card?

Why does it have to be a saving account?

Unlikely as a debit card could in theory allow you to spend money you don't have, and I don't know of any savings accounts with an overdraft feature.

The NatWest First Reserve savings account used to have a Solo and more recently Visa debit card (I don't think it has a DC any more).

An online full auth card wouldn't permit an overdrawn balance, errors could potentially occur resulting in an overdraft I suppose, but this would be unlikely.

Because a current account does not give you interest and some even charge you for the account. And I don't mind the overdraft. It's just that I would like to use the money on the account online.

My BoS Vantage current accounts pay 3%. I have 3 more LTSB Vantage current accounts paying 4% (3% as standard).

Santander 123 current account pays 3%.

Nationwide have a current account paying 5%.

    You were saying? ;)

Really? Then I need to look into those. BTW what is LTSB? Lloyds TSB? Lloyds does not allow those with Burmese passports to open accounts :(

Are you sure? I thought Lloyds are quite happy to take on UK residents if they are either EU citizens, or have permission to stay in the UK for more than 12 months.

I asked. They said as long as you have a "Burmese passport" you can't open an account. You need a passport of a "non sanctioned" country.

I have UK Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

I think sanctions against Burma have been suspended.
