Nationwide card issues

Options
Has anyone had any issues with their debit card being declined? I have phoned the customer service line and they have informed me there is a problem across the UK and they recommend that you do not use your debit card as it is most probably going to be declined.

Not particularly - there is a thread on here where a faulty batch of FlexDirect cards have made it out of the factory and into people's pockets.

Yes, RBS/Natwest cards seem to be having issues. Those cards begin 4751 xx.

Funnily enough, FlexDirect and FlexPlus cards also start 4751 xx - I wonder if FlexAccount cards ( 4543 xx) are ok?

.... and if they are OK it begs the question, why are Nationwide using Natwest/RBS issued cards for their new accounts?
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂

I spent £2 on my FlexAccount this morning.

I have a FlexDirect account as well, but never intend to use it.

The BIN is the first 6 digits, not the first 4. Unless they are the same, they are not using the same Visa bin.
