As an aside, I've just bought one and they are cheapest at Carphone Warehouse. They seem to be a fixed price everywhere else. My 32Gb Wifi one was £458 rather than £479.

I have a wifi only ipad that I connect at home by wifi, and out and about by connecting it to my mobile phone and using that as the connection to use the 3G as a wifi port for my ipad. It works really well for me.

I've got an iPad from work and ill be honest I'm not to keen on it I'm using it now actually one major downside if you use websites that use flash don't bother my workmate got a galaxy tab thing and to me it's the better of the two but I don't pay for mine so not to fussed

If you want to use it for any sort of satnav, you'll need a 3G version

As for Flash, can't say I've ever noticed it or needed it recently, I believe Adobe have now stopped supporting it for Android anyway.

Only the 3G enabled iPads have a GPS chipset
