Thanks CCL. It sure is!
Hehe thanks DIA.....I'm almost at £300 now :T I started in March I think so working on that, it'll take me another 12 moths to get to my target. Slowly slowly
I'm not sure it's brave to take massive pay cut :rotfl: I think though that we can do it because we are on our own and only have ourselves to look after. We have the option and as long as the basics are covered, it's all good. :T

So when are you hoping to be debt free then?
Erm, yeah good point actually
If I wasn't moving, this diary would still be a debt free diary I guess. But when I decided I was moving, I had to switch to saving for doing up my house to sell, and preparing for my new life. The debt is much lower than it was, less than 1k now and it's all just ticking along and will be paid off in due course. Once I've moved and settled in, I'll probably try and blast through getting paid off once and for all. Although any extra money I get from surveys goes towards my holiday fund so I suppose it's not that interesting for me to say I've paid £60 off my debt out of my wages. And I didn't even realise I was debt neutral until Going To Do It pointed it out to me, I totally missed that so I've crossed over without knowing.
And as much as I'd love to be an MFW, I'm not really there yet. I do like tracking my spends and survey earnings on here so I without knowing where else to go to record it all, I'll probably hang around!Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

If I ever mention that I want to move again, please stop me. It's all driving me crazy....constantly waiting for people to do what they need to do, waiting for updates and action. Everyone is holiday, solicitors, estate agent, freeholder, which is obviously fine, but I just want to move now. I'm packed three quarters of my house so I just want to move and unpack!
I've managed to sell a few bits, freecycle a few things and get rid of bits at the tip. I went through a load of work stuff and have chucked loads of papers away. When I leave my job, I'll get rid of the rest which will feel amazing I'm sure :T I've managed to get lots of cardboard boxes from work and now my local T3sco express will keep me a few which is lovely of them. The only things I've had to buy are parcel tape and a 100m roll of bubblewrap and I got them from Am@zon using my earned giftcards! :money:
I'm off to my spa night away next week which will be lovely and a nice change from all the packing and stress. All these people around me having holidays is making me very jealous but still, up to nearly £300 on my CHEFS (Cruise Holiday Entirely Funded by Surveys) target so that's good
I finally got around to sorting out my phone switch today after my contract ended in May. I've gone SIM only with Plu5net for £7.50 pm, saving a ridiculous £20.51 pm which I'm planning to syphon off for a good few months so that I can buy my next phone outright.Although I doubt I'd buy new in future so I'll try and get to £250 which will get me a reconditioned phone.
When I started this debt free journey, there was loads of savings to be made, some things I could do straight away, some things I had to wait until contracts ended. I think this phone one was the last thing I could save money on :T Everything else is as low as I can get it, and it's second nature to shop around for better deals when the time comes :money::money:
And now my "journey" is coming to an end, it's quite weird. I've been working towards this for ages but what am I going to do when it's paid off? I mean obviously I'll try and stay out of debt, and I'll try and save but I feel I'm about to graduate from money saving school and soon I'll be out there on my own in the big wide world
I've been so focused on becoming debt free so hopefully I'll have time for other things, such as visiting the gym, reading or doing night classes. Anything I wantI think I'll still have to make time for surveys though
What I really want to do is get a grip of my brother and sister in law's finances, like a little project where I can feel the buzz of getting a good deal again and saving money :rotfl: Mine's sorted, I'm fine, but I miss that feeling!! They earn really well between them but they waste so much! We have talked about it and my sister in law has shown an interest in overhauling their finances but they never follow through and I know it's pointless until they really have their lightbulb moment. Haha they know what I think, I've told them straight, and I've been a bit stealthier about it at times but I won't push it. Perhaps when I'm living nearby and proudly debt free, they'll want a piece of that too.Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Nearly £300 on CHEF's challenge? How fab is that? :T
Your post was lovely to read but also a bit sad. Your journey is coming to and end isn't it? I was reading you long before I started my diary and I could really identify with you. To see where you are now is amazing and inspiring.
I am so very pleased for you.

Thanks DIA, I'm really chuffed with it. I think I started off with £2.50 in the middle of March but all those little bits add up. When 0nepoll and PA payout I'll be up to £317 and I think when I get to £500 I'll start flicking through cruise brochures:T
Awww thank you. But do not worry, I'm going to stick around. Once my debt is finally paid, I need to save save save. I don't want to lose focus and coming here to record everything keeps me in check. And like I said to Beanielou, I'm not really an MFW!
I never in a million years thought I'd ever get debt free. I know I'm not there yet but I nearly am free of credit card debt. I've still got my sofa loan to tackle which is about £600 but it's on 0%. But yeah, I've been in debt over 20 years. Consolidated onto my mortgage at least twice, withdrew cash from credit cards, over spent, frittered, renewed things without checking deals, didn't budget........:(:( But then I found MSE and I got a grip.
I never thought I'd be able to leave my job either. I've been doing it 14 years and I've been moaning about it for 13 of them :rotfl: I couldn't have moved or got a new job being 7k in debt so I am forever grateful for finding this site, for all the tips and the amazing inspiration that posters like you provide.
I love reading diaries, the debt free roll of honour and the MFW board. And it makes me so sad to read new posters in the grip of despair, having sleepless nights, worrying about their debt. I love it when it clicks for them and you know they've got it, they've had the lightbulb moment, but it's sad to read when people want to do something and know they need to do it but they don't get it and they aren't willing to do what needs to be done.
It's not easy to get out of debt, not on an average or low income anyway. It's hard work but sticking at it is so satisfying, getting good deals, value for money, saving pots, decluttering, improving every aspect of your lifeAnyway, didn't mean to make that sound like a farewell speech......I'm still in debt and I'm still here :rotfl: And the rate you're going, you'll be debt free before me!! You can't leave me either!!!:D:D

Not much has happened with the house buying and selling this week. Still waiting.....:o So over waiting now!! i just want to get excited but I can't yet incase it all goes wrong.Arrgh!
Not a lot has happened this week really. One colleague had a go at me via email after I emailed her just with an FYI thing, not asking her to do anything about it. She did apologise after I pointed out in a curt reply to read the email again. I shouldn't have bothered emailing her in the first place, I just thought it would be helpful :rotfl: Can't wait to leave and get a load of new colleagues :rotfl::rotfl:
I'm chilling out this weekend, maybe just a little cleaning and tidying, a bit of packing but I want to do some scrapbooking if I can. I'm away at the spa hotel on Tuesday then we have afternoon tea booked for Wednesday. So much indulgence in such few hours
Have a great bank holiday y'all:)
