Righhhhtttt, 3.2.1. back in the room
I've taken a bit of an extended break from everything, social media and here. But I've still be doing surveys. The one constant in my life is my beloved surveys :rotfl:
Everything has been a bit !!!! really. Job. House. Life. I know I'm really lucky, and it's nothing terrible, but I'm miserable with it all.
Now I've finally made the decision to change things after years of moaning, I'm getting very impatient to still be waiting for action. Boring myself and others no doubt with all my moans.
Job
There's no extra money for this job, lowest point band 2, take it or leave it. I want to take it, desperately, but I can't until I'm living in my hometown. I can't afford to commute for long, it's probably going to be £200+ for petrol, plus buying a car after my lease car goes back, plus my current mortgage. When I'll only probably be taking home £1100 pm, it's just not doable. I don't want to get to be 7k in debt again with very little scope for paying it off.
House
Been on the market 4 weeks. 5 viewers, good feedback but no offers. I can't afford to go too low as I need as much as I can get as my hometown is more expensive. But I'm not getting offers anyway. I'm sick to death of keeping it clean :rotfl: I really need to sell soon as I've seen a flat I like in a lovely area, great price and reasonable lease costs, but I can't proceed until I sell mine.
So I've asked the new job if they can wait until I move, not till I've sold, till I've definitely moved, which could be months. I can't commit to the job on the basis of having an offer as anything could happen then I'm absolutely stuffed. But I can commute from my hometown to my current job as I'll have the car, the money and more time as it's better hours. It's a long shot but if they can't budge on the pay, which I understand, I can't afford to commute for x amount of months. Still waiting to hear but I suspect it'll be a big fat no, which I'm ok with. I want to take it but I want to not be in debt more. I've sort of resigned to the fact that I will still be in my current job a few more months but at least I'll be able to move, when the time comes, on the strength of my current wage, plus I'll be able to save a bit more.
Waiting waiting waiting for other people to make decisions on what will happen in my life. Unless I'm blind, there's nothing else I can do but wait. Well, maybe keep the house clean and carry on with the surveys, obvs;)
I'm trying to forget about all of this and other stuff going on so that I can get out of my mood and enjoy my big birthday weekend! I don't want any bad news this week, I only want good news and good things and good times with friends and family.
I've got a really nice weekend planned. Lunch with friends Friday, back to my hometown and chill on Friday night. Lunch, bowling and laser quest on Saturday with a meal at night then afternoon tea on Sunday. Nothing wild, but I'm really looking forward to it. Shame I'm a bit skint, been quite spendy but if I have to borrow a little from savings, then that's fine. You only turn 40 once:rotfl::p

Hi Ena, sorry to hear that the job hunt is frustrating you, it must be so difficult. I hope something changes for you soon! I don't know if this is an option but is there anyone you could stay with in your home town while you sell your place? Just trying to think of ways you could take the job before selling (although I know its far from ideal).0

Thanks for updating. I had been wondering if you were absent due to the new job. You are doing great. You just need to keep on keeping on and it will all come right. It will.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks lcc. It certainly is frustrating at the moment. Now I've made the decision to move and change my job, I just want it to happen. I'm normally quite good at waiting but I think I've waited long enough to change my life :rotfl:
My brother and sister in law have offered to put me up for a bit but they have an aggressive cat and I have 2 and they wouldn't get on, plus they may have to find somewhere else to live as the landlady needs her house back. I could leave my cats here and get someone to feed them but I'd miss them so much and I really don't think that is an option. If I knew it was for a few weeks I could possibly do it but if the house sale fell through, I'd be stuck. Thanks for the suggestions though.
Hope you're getting on OKDebt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500

Thanks for dropping by DIA
I really hope so, thank you, I'm not giving up yet. Everytime I think of collapsing into a blubbering wreck, I roar a bit and get annoyed with myself and get myself ready for battle. I will get through it, I will get the life I want and it will be all the more sweeterx

Another break from things but the money saving and making continues
I had a brilliant weekend last weekend.....turning 40 wasn't so bad. I did a survey late on Friday night and when it asked for my age, I thought to myself that it was going to be the last time I could put 39! :rotfl: I'm now in a new age category so hopefully the surveys won't dry up:p
I met up with friends, saw family, ate far too much and giggled a lot. I've got lots of photos so I'll be framing some and making a scrapbook album as a memory.
Anyway, back down to it now.......

DMIC (Daily Mortgage Interest Challenge - making more than £4.06 a day) 11/25 :T
CHEFS account 191.06 :T:T
There was a knock at the door yesterday evening and someone from Ips0s M0ri was looking for participants for an interview and a follow up survey. She looked hot and tired and I'm sure knocking endless doors is hard work, and as my house was reasonably tidy following viewers the day before I invited her in. We did the interview and she gave me details for the survey that I need to do online and then presented me with a fiver for my time......result! Straight in my CHEFS account
It's payday tomorrow which is good as I've been a tad spendy. Too much craft stuff, some frittering but definitely need to rein it in a bit. I did have birthday money which has lessened the blow and I have really treated myself. Partly because I haven't really been very frivolous for ages and partly to cheer myself upI've also got a free facial with my usual lady *twas a birthday pressie* so the money I've saved for that will be transferred to my emergency fund. And a couple of friends clubbed together for a spa day so I'll probably save that for later in the year. They want to go too so we'll sort dates. My other spa night away is in August so I don't want too much indulgence in one go, oh no!
My CHEFS account (Cruise Holiday Entirely Funded by Surveys) is nearly at £200 which is amazing considering I started mid March. I really think I'll be able to do it :j:T
I've had 7 viewers for the house now but no offersBut some good news is that my new job is willing to wait for me for a bit, not a year, but a reasonable amount of time. They understand my predicament and I am so grateful that all is not lost. Just need the house sold.....that's the key to everything
Back to work tomorrow unfortunately. I'm only working the morning then I have my appraisal which I've done zero prep for :rotfl: I usually wing it on the day so nothing changes and I care even less this year funnily enough.;)

Ups and downs still......had an offer for my house but it's too low really. But if I don't take it, I'll miss out the flat I want and possibly the job. Lots of thinking to do and figures to work out. A little lottery win now would be very welcome :rotfl:

my debt stood at £6895.44. The highest recorded debt although I suspect it was over 7k at one point. Not much to some but far too much for me. Over 20 years in debt, multiple consolidations, spending out of control, wasting money, holidays on credit cards, pure ignorance and probably a bit of laziness too!
Well, I finally got a grip which was the best thing I ever did and now my credit card debt stands at £1195 :T:j I still have my sofa loan which is 0% and ticking along and I think the outstanding debt on that is around £650. I've also had around 5k of work done on my house but if i hadn't, I'd be debt free now with some nice savings in the bankI worked out my percentage of paid debt and it's a whopping 82.67%.
While everything is up in the air, I'm still reluctant to announce a DFD. I've been saving more than I've been paying off my credit cards but if I were to pay £250 a month I'd be debt free in December. This cheers me up. But I'm going to carry on saving as much as I can, with maybe the odd extra payment. Soon enough, my CC debt will be in 3 figures, not 4.......I'm so close now!Debt Apr 15 - £6895.44Apr 17 - £2500
