Good morning lovely ladies.
Ena, sorry to hear how you feel about your job. It's such a shame given the time you need to spend doing it, and I can well believe that it can get you very down.
What things could you do apart from surveys to bring the debt down?
I know I sound like a broken record, but perhaps you could try and visualise the way your life would be with a lodger and calculate how soon that would make it possible for you to leave the job?
It took me a long time and a lot of to-ing and fro-Ing to actually decide and take in a lodger. And in the end, I had a really quiet girl first and we both tried to make an effort and it worked well. I think it is a bit lifestyle change though, where you can't have the living room to yourself etc.
but if it was not forever, but if it halved your debt free journey, would that be worth doing? Different people have different priorities. I know that my INFP friend would not like to share anymore.
I was thinking of it in terms of a trade off rather than a sacrifice though, and that helps put a different spin on things. Often, to get out of a time of feeling low, I find it helps to redefine your actions and priorities. You know, as in that saying: be careful how you talk to yourself, you are listening. You could then retrain or venture out there and start doing something that you've always wanted.
Also, I found these and they are quite useful, at least some of them:

Sorry to hear how much you are hating work, nothing worse thank having to go and do a job you dislike.
Glad you managed to get sorted warmth wise, I've put my foot down this year with OH and told him I'm not scrimping on heat, I don't mean that I will have it on full blast and be sat in a tee shirt, but I'm sick of years of wearing many layers huddles under blankets on the sofa and being able to see my breath, no I will not stand another year of it, ifit means having to put heating oil on CC so be it, I hate the misery of being cold.
Well done with the weight loss and the freebie clothes.
Take care.x.
Thanks icbw. Got to keep plugging away!
I quite agree with you about heat, definitely a basic human need for it. I was freezing cold at work on Monday and I couldn't think straight, all I could think about was how cold I was. It's no fun to have that at home too. Thanks for dropping by xDebt Apr 15 - £6895.44

Hi,
I am in awe of how much you earn online its amazing!
I do need to get back into ebaying. I tend to pile things up then get impatient and take it to the clothes recycling bins.
I have tried to buy from there the past few weeks which is already saving me spending on my next account!
I am sad to read how unhappy you are at work, especially as it's such a big part of your life.
Could you re-train within the NHS - ie move in a different direction / team / location?
If you had the choice, and money was no object what would you love to do, what would make you happy?
Ah thanks bellevie. If only I could earn 30k from surveys I'd ditch my job haha. Could you try listing a few items a week, break it down a bit so it's more achievable? I tend to list a few items, do a scheduled start for a few days time, then edit them to start immediately so that they finish on a Sunday night. I listed 34 items in one day once, and it took all day! Never again!
Thank you, my job is a bit specialised really so there's not really scope for movement. I don't know what I really want to do, I just I don't want to / can't do that job anymore. I think I need to get debt free, build up some savings and leave that job, breath a bit and then think about the future! Ideally I want to live by the sea but I'm not sure I only want to live there so that I have to leave my job! Arrgh! Need some more thinking time!
Thanks for stopping by

Blackmail? Robbery? Escorting? :rotfl: But back in the real world......I think I've cut my bills and spends as much as I can, and I am boosting my income in small ways. I do want a lodger, it's definitely something I want to do, it's just getting the spare room up to scratch and having the money to do it. I'm trying to save up for that work, budget properly for rainy day funds and pay extra on debts, but I can't seem to do it all. So many times I've wanted to zero my rainy day accounts and throw it at debt, but then I'll be in a mess.
I can see myself with a lodger, it will be a bit weird at first, but I think it'll be worth it for the debts. It'll be like being a student again and hanging around in my bedroom!
Thanks for the link, I will have a look. And thanks for your post, much appreciated

Payday has come and gone, roll on the next one. I'm constantly wishing my life away! I hate this being in debt b*****ks! I've still been a bit mopey but I'm keeping a record of my MS activities

Saturday
* £12.55 on top up groceries and receipt scanned on checkoutsm@rt
* £20.01 on fuel. Grrrr a penny over!
* The new H@lifax CC arrived so I've balance transferred! £1500 from Barcl@ycard
* The ppi claim pack arrived so I'll get that signed and sent off asap
* £12.50 on a very last minute meal with friends. I drank tap water (free!) and they paid for my dessert in return for driving them :T
Sunday
* NSD
* 2SB earned. Very poor effort! :eek:
* 12 items listed on eb@y
Monday
* £4.40 on lunch and receipt scanned on checkoutsm@rt
* £4.00 on an emergency purchase of thermal socks. My feet were like blocks of ice at work
* Youg0v survey
* No SB earned
Tuesday
* £32.89 on groceries, including some YS stuff for the freezer :T and receipt scanned on checkoutsm@rt
* Youg0v survey
* 65SB earned
* £2.20 sweep into overpayments account
* £500 cash advance from Barcl@ycard was paid into my bank account towards my new radiators. I think this was the cheapest way of doing it and better than making a purchase on my Nati0nwide CC :money:
* £41.13 eb@y profit withdrawn and transferred to my overpayments account for now
Today
* £14.06 on special cat food. Now he's losing weight, I can move him onto something a bit cheaper in a couple of weeks as this stuff from the vet is not sustainable
* £8.79 on some household bits from cheapo shop (cheaper than getting them in t3sco yesterday)
* 5 (wow!) PA surveys which took me over the £20 threshold so £23.03 claimed and will be paid within days :j:beer:
* Sold an item on Shp0ck for £2.50 which they'll collect tomorrow night, hopefully!
* 110SB earned
I think I might have cracked YNAB after getting in a pickle on last payday. I've made 2 income entries, one 'available this month' of £100 to get me through to the 31st, then the rest for next month. I tried to just make it all for next month but I would have had to adjust my rainy day accounts as 'every dollar' was allocated and then pay myself back but it got too complicated. In a few months I'll have hopefully built a surplus and it won't matter but I think maybe I'm being a bit thick about it but it doesn't help trying to figure it out at midnight when I'm tired! That's my excuse anyway :rotfl:

I've just updated my signature and added up my total debt and it stands at £5937.85. It's gone up due to the £500 cash advance for my radiators but had I not done this, my debt would be £5437.85. When I had my LBM (the 2nd one
) in July, my debt was £6333.30 so I would have paid off nearly £900 which isn't too shabby. Oh well, at least I'll be warm!

If it was really nice I'd try but most of it is a bit rubbish, but the nicer body washes have all been opened. At least I won't have to buy any for months / years :rotfl:
Brilliant sw@gbucking, well done Gonna. It's lovely to get free money for answering a few questions!
