Travel Republic price increase after booking

This has got more to do with Ryanair trying to stop travel agents from selling their flights at all.
Ryanair do not let any travel agents have access to live data and prices, because Ryanair want exclusive rights to rip passengers off themselves and to prevent travel agents from saving their customers any money.
The only way to avoid this is to boycot Ryanair.
complete rubbish.
Ryanair prices are live, so if you book direct, that is what you pay.
If you don't like Ryanair, fair enough, but that statement is just completely biased tosh.
Travel Republic are the problem here.
What they offered was a "dynamic package" and if they cant do it at the contracted price then they should be able to cancel the whole lot.0 -
They will be able to have a full refund of the hotel and transfers. It's just that there is no-one there to administer it on a Sunday. Or they can pay the increased cost of the flight.
Some people still prefer to use a travel agent as it is simpler, a dynamic package is covered by the travel agents ATOL license and is ABTA protected. A ryanair flight booked direct is not covered by ATOL. So there are benefits to using a travel agent. Even Thomas Cook are going down the dynamic package route now. The old fashioned package holidays are the ones that will die out eventually.0 -

That isn't what I meant.
Ryanair's prices aren't available on any of the industry booking/brokerage sites. They have to be input by the travel agents into websites or the travel agents have to use screenscrapers like Skyscanner etc use.
Ryanair only want you to book direct with them. Customers want dynamic packages and some even want to fly with Ryanair, so it doesn't give the travel agents much choice.
It is true however that I dislike Ryanair immensely (mainly because O'Lairy is an ar5e) and would go to any length necessary to avoid them.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Well I called them this morning.
As I thought, they were unable to cancel the entire holiday as the hotel and transfer bookings couldn't be cancelled without losing the full cost.
I cancelled the flights with them, and rebooked myself. At least this way I know it's booked.
Apparently Travel Republic have 12 working hours to book flights after a booking has been received. If they had booked flights when I made the booking with them the price would not have increased.
The customer service guys I spoke to this morning couldn't care less. I strongly advise against booking with Travel Republic.0 -

Never book Ryanair through a travel agent. Your ticket may be cancelled by Ryanair or you may suffer problems like the OP.0 -

How exactly do Ryanair rip off passengers ?
I've certainly never felt that I've been ripped off when using them.0 -
Explain to them that their contracts are with the individual providers anyway so in effect, they haven't booked everything through the same company. If they want that they need to book a proper package.
I think you need to look at this a little more. If you book through an agent using their ATOL license the whole Package is covered in the same way as any traditional package. If you book everything yourself then you are not covered. This may seem like a small thing at the time of booking but in the event of any serious problems you would soon find out the value of that ATOL certificate.
Also when booking directly on any system such as ryanair if you make any mistake you are liable to pay for it and believe me that can cost you dear. If you book through an agent they are liable for any mistakes again a harsh lesson to learn.:beer:I am a Travel Agent My company’s ABTA numbers are P6928 MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. ATOL numbers can be checked with the civil avaiation authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
I booked flights with travel republic yesterday at 9.30 am, two return flights to Palma with Monarch. At 4.00 pm they contacted me to say the flight had increased by £30.00 per person. The reason that I got was the price on the website had not been updated, however, I searched the travel republic website whilst still on the phone with " customer support" and the price had gone down so clearly someone was changing the web prices.
I can't find anything on their website that prices are subject to change ( how many people have been told their flight has reduced in price)
In the T&Cs under PRICE it states" The price confirmed to you at the time of booking is the final price and will not be affected by price increases imposed by our Travel Providers or caused by currency fluctuations. There is an exception in the case of excursions, please see below."
I contacted "customer support " later in the day to point this clause out, the reply I got was "no comment"
Where do I stand with this? Incidentally the price this morning on their website is still at the lower price!'0 -
