Why shouldn't the owner face up to critics and answer them? That would help prove how much of a great currency it is? Rather than hide... what you're saying doesn't make sense.

If Satoshi (whoever/whatever) was discovered, would it change anything. Do we need another figure head, celebrity?
It is what it is, the motive is clear, the code is well understood, and the die is cast.

Satoshi would just become a target for all the negative media and haters,.... "Well he believes xyz... so its a load of rubbish", "He smoked a joint once, so created Bitcoin so Silk road could peddle smack to kids'... you know the sort of thing. The fact that we don't know who he is is a very wise move in my opinion.

The gains sound incredible and they are.

That's the reality of it. I had a bet on here with someone 6 weeks ago that the price would be higher in 12 months time than its then current price of £80.

As of today the price has gone up fivefold. So even £5k worth bought then would now be worth £25k.

Now I hold a lot more than £5k worth and bought them at an average price of £57. Given this, it is easy to see how many people have become rich very quickly.

It has been one hell of a ride and has completely changed my life.

I guess you have proof of when you bought, how much you bought and how much you have now, that you could post on here?

They're only rich if they've converted their Bitcoins back into worthless fiat currency.

I cashed out some last week to buy a new(ish) car and to pay for a new roof and solar pv system.

In real terms, these 3 items have cost me about £3k

Ah, and because you cashed out last week, you can't provide the proof I asked for that you ever had any bit coins. Convenient, and a surprise because this is the first time you have mentioned cashing out.

    Pull the other one. :rotfl:

On a different tack. I bought £1 of bitcoins back in the eighties. They weren't called bitcoins then and it was a real secret currency and no one was allowed to tell about it. That £1 of bitcoins is now worth £1,000,000,00. It's true because I am saying so, in writing, on the internet.
  • I can provide proof I lost £2k trying to buy Bitcoins if anyone wants to see that? Just thankful I got the £2k back even if it meant I didn't have any BTC!!!

I sold £20k worth of bitcoins over the past week (which in real terms cost me £3k) to pay for the items mentioned in my last post.

I still hold a significant amount of bitcoins and intend keeping them for now,

Not that dryhat is obligated to, but he could give us his wallet address and you could track every transaction to and from that address on the blockchain. There would, incidentally be no risk to his wealth in doing so, as long as he doesn't reveal his passkey.

Although my returns are not as impressive, today I cashed out a small quantity of Bitcoins which has netted me an impressive 400% return on my initial investment, and allowed me to still keep a balance of 'free' bitcoins which I can happily forget about for a decade or two...I'm hoping after a few more booms and busts, the remainder will settle at upwards of $10,000 per coin. Optimistic maybe, but I believe in the fundamentals and have absolutely nothing to lose here.

I'll prove how many coins I have (by signing a message with the private key of my stash) when you upload a PDF of your bank statement.... isn't it the same thing, money is money?

So do I, £1,000,000 worth, though you cut that bit when you quoted my post.
