.....Those that are speculating on Bitcoin aren't necessarily deluded libertarians, they just have a high risk tolerance.

They are deluded, they don't have the capacity to reason between what is risk, and what is dumb.

Bitconistas are members of a cult. Simple as.

Yes, biggest surprise is that not all the gold bugs are bitbugs. Just most of them.

Never been a gold bug, long term gold bull.
Gold bugs are 31 grammes short of an ounce. Bitbugs are short a lot more, and getting shorter.

This doesn't look like a crash to me ...

All that has happened in the last couple of days is one exchange has lost/stolen thousands of bitcoins and millions of dollars.

The Bitcoin network is unaffected and remains as secure as ever.

Same old FUD slinging, same people, every time there's any sniff of perceived bad news.

    Difficulty marches on upwards regardless.

If someone wants to talk up the price of bitcoins why on earth would they come to a forum primarily used by people looking to save every penny or have significant debts? There are much better places to go than MSE to try and talk up the price of BTC.

Yes precisely. Instead, however, he is hammering on about it here like a religious fanatic.

    Warning!!!

Better to not take the advice of someone who (allegedly) has 5 bitcoins and is a self-confessed liar:

    No mate.

I'm £900 up and I've got 5 bitcoins that effectively cost me nothing but are currently worth 400 odd quid but could become worth even more.

I'm going to keep hold of them to see what happens.

And I might buy some more. Or I might not.

    Who knows?

And after pretending to be 51 (to add gravitas to his posts and not come across as a kid posting on a forum):

    Ok you got me.

    I'm 21 really.

Caught in a lie. I wonder if anything you have said is true?

Another salient lesson for those jumping on a bandwagon - a lot of the people telling you it's a good thing are liars, fantasists or criminals.

As a long-time MSE poster said on this thread - better to get rich slowly.

    All publicity is good publicity.

I'm seeing increased intrest in Bitcoin despite (or because of) the recent events.
