I want to buy a new keyboard and mouse and thought I might as well go wireless.
Does it make much difference to buy a cheap mouse or keyboard or a more expensive option?
Can people recommend any they have purchased?
Also can I buy one set and use on both my computers, I have a Mac and a PC.

just remember when the batteries go flat
A better mouse design should have battery life, but you need to check on the box,
some wireless mice interfere with wifi signal, as they ae on the same frequency.0 -
Just my 2d worth
Since both keyboard and mouse are usually in close proximity to the PC Base unit then it's a waste of money going wireless. Wired have the following advantages:- cheaper to buy
- don't need charging or batteries
- won't stop working because the battery is dead
- works off native OS, don't need separate software installed
Mouse = Microsoft or Logitec
Keyboard = Dell, Microsoft or any other keyboard with a nice positive action.
However if you can use the same for mac and windows then IT's a different story. Don't know if it can be done.

Thanks
Can you recommend any good wired keyboard / mouse models? For a Mac and / or PC?
My search results on Amazon, the prices vary hugely!

Ebuyer delivery is £3 so i guess its worth it if they sell better quality stuff.0 -
I've always found Logitech to be pretty good value, reliable and with good support.0

It is quite small though0 -
It kind of depends what you want - if all you want is a keyboard to type on and don't need volume controls, web browsing buttons etc etc and equally so just want a two button mouse with a wheel then something as cheap as these two will do everything you need..

I've used Novatech a lot and find they're very good, but there's equally good stuff for the same prices on other sites.0 -

Special battery? - bad selling point

Bought something similar for my phone, but there is no flexibility, so if you are connecting a heavy-ish device like a srick with some keys on the end, it will stress the the usb connector, so you are better off using one with a short cable.

I switched to a wireless keyboard and mouse a few years ago. The keyboard was expensive and relatively poorly-made, occasionally the odd keypress wasn't received, it was a nightmare when the batteries when flat, and I virtually never moved it anyway, so being wireless was an expensive and frustrating waste of time.
I have the (wired) Microsoft Internet Keyboard now, which is cheap, well-made, and doesn't infuriate!
The mouse I initially had suffered from the same problems as the keyboard, but I did get a decent Logitech mouse which had a "base station" so that the batteries would re-charge between uses. That did away with the "flat battery" problem. Also, the signal was stronger and it was really well-made. The only reason I got rid of it and swapped to a wired trackball was because of my RSI.
So, I'd never want to use a wireless keyboard if I could help it. A wireless mouse would be okay if it has a good range and a recharging unit. Otherwise, I'd always prefer wired input devices.0 -

For the price you can't really go wrong with this keyboard and it has an optical mouse.0
