She's Done It to me Again!!

My mother thinks I am penniless thanks to keeping up with the challenges, she has just bought herself a new vaccuum cleaner and because my Henry is still at Cash Generators (I've spent enough, and I've discovered that a dustpan and brush picks up more than you would believe possible) she slipped me another £20 today to "put it towards your new hoover"

She's upset my budget again! I'd better stick this in the PMS pot again :(

    Lucky you. Any 'spare' money I come into goes into my holiday account - cos we want to go to Florida (in 2008 or 9) That gives me enough time to save a decent wadge I reckon.

    Mind you - just found out this week that Mr TM has 'done it to me again' too. He earned some extra money recently and told me to pay off the credit card - which is 0%. Only whilst looking for his NI number did I come across an HSBC bank statement which is £1200+ overdrawn!! We had a few words as you may imagine and he's off to the bank tomorrow to pay it ALL off. I can always get another 0% card :(

    Moggins, what a lovely Mum you've got!! Bless her. Miss mine, haven't had a mum for 14yrs now, she would do things like that too, well, not cash; when my eldest 3 were little, she dragged me into a shop, all unexpected, pointed out a freezer and told me she was buying it :eek: I was actually embarassed and we spent a good few minutes doing the no!/yes!! debate. Poor sales person looked between the two of us and said: "I've had daughters begging their mums for stuff but I've never come across a pair like you two before". Being my mum, she won and to cap it all off asked the guy: "How much off for cash, I've still got to fill it yet!?" ;)

    Ticklemouse - oh nooooooo!!!! How could your dh have overlooked that!?? ((hugs))

    (((((((((Ticklemouse)))))))))) Men eh??

    Queenie, I know she means well but it's starting to annoy me that she thinks my tightwad ways are because I am skint rather than because I don't like wasting money. I've tried telling her but she just doesn't believe me.

    Perhaps I'd better set up an inheritance account and put it all into that :rotfl:

    Awwwwww, mums are ace though aren't they?

    I remember when I was doing my nurse training, and was really skint, mum would occasionally turn up with 'red cross parcels' lol.

    She still does stuff like that now - she pops in occasionally to let the dog out and take her for a walk (as I have been posted to a new job which involves me being out of the house for a long time sometimes), and the other day, she was on about the new Flake chocolates and how nice they are.

    All I said was that I will try them next month, as we are on a bit of an economy drive at the moment - and lo and behold, the next time she came to do the dog, I found a box of Flake chocolates waiting for me - allegedly from the dog lol. She had even written a note from the dog in wobbly handwriting :rotfl:

    (I do this for her too sometimes - got her a digital camera from Ebay for her birthday recently 'from the dog' as a thank you for when she comes to do the dog).

    Anyway - I think the rather long winded point I am trying to make is this -

    "bless" :D
    "It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

    My mum also does stuff like this too i borrowed £80 but she gave me £100 letting me keep the extra £20 to buy the kids something nice. She also sometimes gives me the £50 sains vouchers she gets from work each month to buy the babies milk and nappies with. I never used to get on with my mum when i lived at home but now i have my own place and kids it makes me realise how special she is!!

    Don't let your mum even think about giving your dog chocolate. It is very toxic to dogs (Theobromine poisioning). I'm not surprised your dogs handwriting was shakey.
