Granted, they should have advised the OP that the gate may change and to keep an eye on the screens, but don't most travellers do that anyway?
Well lots of things may have happened, but you're introducing a scenario that isn't there. On the facts provided, a negligent act gave rise to a potential claim, which is all I'm saying.
Of course it is for the defendant to evidence this unlikely possibility if they wish to rely on it, which they would do upon receipt of a Letter Before Claim, as they would with any defence e.g. 'A bolt of lightning struck my computer as I was reading the information', etc.0
