I've been quoted £3,500 limit at 15.9%.....what do you think my chances are of acceptance?
(note I only want a card for emergencies / work travel so would lower the limit to £1,000 or £1,500)
You'll be an instant accept with that quote.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Thanks simax and AMG762
No I don't bank with Nationwide, although I have had a loan with them in the past (fully paid and no issues).
I suspect I just meet their internal criteria at the moment - we all know banks have their own0 -
Now been offered £2500 at 19.9%0

APR still on the high side but might be OK given the limit. Up to you if you want to take the risk
Out of interest if you run through the soft search on Nationwide's website for a £7,500 loan over five years, what does it come out at for the APR?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

FYI: If a loan quote comes up as 24.4%APR, that's a straight decline.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

Can't speak for the loan quote, but re the APR on the CC, I got quoted 19.9% with a £2k limit and was accepted.
Highest APR they dole out, but I couldn't care less about the APR personally since it's 0% for 12 months on purchases (and won't carry a balance afterwards!) and it's a brilliant card for all round use in the UK with cashback and no forex charges abroad.
EDIT: sorry I didn't read that properly, you were talking Nationwide CC, I was referring to the Select, but I expect the same principle applies re the soft search.0 -

Not great.
I'd say there's a fair chance you'd be declined for the credit cardCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
