we were lying on my bed last night playing when he wobbled/pounced on my face and started to bite and scratch whilst purring, the git
i know hes only playing but ouch cant he play nicely lol
any help on when to start weaning would be helpful
he will be 4 weeks on friday he is starting to dislike taking his milk via a syringe wont take the bottle and when ive p[ut a small amount on a saucer he just puts his full face init then ends up sneezing and falling all over the place (its v funny)
oh and good news the OH has always staed that come 8 weeks he will have to go and has refused to even look at him
well......last night cat was ot of his box and exploring abet wobbly when he sat down and stared at OH who promptly said that he is getting cute :j
so cat has another 4 weeks to win him round so we can keep him

For weaning just try leaving some kitten food down for them, maybe mixed with a bit of fish. My brother did this for his kittens an eventually they realised that mum was eating, so they should aswell! They did still suckle until they moved out from home though. Or the one they kept, until mum had the snip. God she went nuts when the poor kitty tried to suckle her a few hours after the operation.Green and White Barmy Army!0

thanks for that but will that work for cat as he has no mum to show him the ropes so to speak just me and when do i start some people have said around 4 weeks (friday) some say 5 and some say 6 im sooooo confused
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Ahh fair enough, forgot that it was just you.
Then it could be easier, as mum wont try and pinch the food! Brother started at 5 (they were all rehomed at 7). Tried with chicken and tuna first as, well they adore it and it helps tempt them
Then add some kitten food, then leave the kitten food down and let them play. They will eventually realise that it looks nice, even if you have to pretend to eat it!Green and White Barmy Army!0 -

When we had a kitten taken from mum too young, and had to try teaching her to lap milk fom a bowl, she was doing the same as Cat, sticking her face in, sneezing, and looking confused. So I would wet my finger with the milk, and as she was licking my finger I would slowly lower my finger down into the milk until her tongue was at the right height and I gradually could take my finger away and she would carry on. It didn't take too many goes until she was drinking it on her own, they learn very quickly thank goodness!
Good luck. Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

Oh no.....wish I hadn't looked at the pics. A colleague of hubby's has some kittens ready for re-homing, he wants one, I don't. We already have a cat, shes about 16 or 17 now. I really really don't want to start all over again with the tray training, cleaning up accidents, shredded furniture etc etc.
but I can feel myself wavering.....sooo cute...please take the pics away now
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
