Getting PAID £23 to have broadband for 12 months with O2!!!

OK how is this for an INCREDIBLE deal of the century package I am now going to get PAID to have internet for 12 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O2 are currently giving £100 cashback via quidco, I signed up for the all rounder package which is HALF PRICE for 12 months + a £5 monthly discount for existing O2 customers making it £19.25 a month (this includes phone line rental) the only other costs I have are a £43 connection charge and a £3 wireless router delivery charge this makes my total annual cost £277, however get this!!! They will also give me £200 credit on my mobile phone bill if I sign up!!!! So with the £100 cash back as well they are effectively paying me £23!!! The broadband is only about 15-20mb but there are no download limits!!!! Are you SERIOUS O2!!!?? It's a no brainer. Also they are being taken over by SKY in 2 months so it will be transferred to their broadband etc which will be even better.. Check it out!

You can choose between £50 M&S voucher or £200 credit to your bill (they tell you about the £200 on the phone when you ring them) er I'll have the £200 please!!!

It's the same deal they're offering to all existing customers: 12m free broadband and £200 mobile credit.
There's no way that the Sky transfer will go through in 2 months, the deal has to go through regulatory approval first-that will probably take 3 months alone.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

The cashback is from o2 not quidco. You have to ring them for it.

Sky broadband better than o2? Pull the other one lol. o2 is just about the best, or at least it was, until they changed the service about 2 years ago, and bought in allsorts of caps, throttles, traffic shaping etc...

There's a reason those on the original service, still won't take any deal offered to them, for the fear of transferring to the new service... but the o2 network is certainly better than the Sky network at present - considerably lower subscription numbers is a key factor in this, so it's probably more likely that the service will deteriorate for both as Sky look to migrate customers to a single network to cut costs etc...

They the not really paying you to have BB. You have to pay them more than the are paying you, so the real scenario is you have to spend a little less of your own money.

Now if they pay you, without you making any contribution, I'd sign up for that!

At lunchtime today, I had email notification from O2 that my Broadband bill was due. It was for the wrong amount so I have just rang and got them to alter it with no problem. The CSA also told me I was out of contract (19/02) but unfortunately they had had a glitch in the system and it looked like I hadn't been told which was quite right. I checked my paperwork and found this to be the case. He then informed me that if I rang retentions I would be able to get this deal i.e. FREE for 12 months but the info hadn't come from him!!!
Well I have just rang O2 retentions and they say they know nothing about 12 months free, but he could do me a deal for £4.25 per month which is of course what the basic package on the link provided above shows. Unfortunately he failed to mention the £100 cashback from quidco or indeed the £50 M&S voucher so sly work afoot I would say. Will ring later this afternoon and hopefully get someone different.

PS. They also told me the deal with Sky is at least 18 months away.
  • Seems like a good deal to me!

    Did you ring 0800 230 0202, then Options 1>5>2 (leaving O2)?
That's the only way to reach retentions; normal O2 CS don't have the authority to offer the 12m free.
They won't necessarily volunteer the other freebies, ask for what you want and you may get it.

Yes.Then I clicked on Craigcharles link and it takes me straight to the page.
There is only 1 way to find out really, because I don't know if I will qualify for the offer.
It says something along the lines of £3 postage for a router (I already have one of their routers) £23 or so for the line or £43 if line needs converting (don't think I need this) then £13.50 per month less £5.00 if you have an o2 mobile (I have) so becomes £8.50 then reduced to £4.50 (half price for 12months) along with £100 from Quidco and a £50 M&S voucher.
I just don't understand how you get £100 from Quidco if you aren't going through their website and besides it isn't mentioned on there anyway.
Off to give them a ring. Will post any update. Thank you for your help - sally
