    So the HC says it is an offence, but does not make it one. This is the pedantic, semantic difference that Chopper is nitpicking over.

    Correct but does it matter? Most of us understood what derrick was saying & it's now become meaningless & tedious.... everyone needs to let it go !!!!!!.

    Agreed, there is no more to say, except to keep repeating.

    What happened to the OP?

    This is not the only thread he is turning into his own private pedantic and high and mighty argument;

    The HC states it, I have quoted it several times including my post #56 that was directed at you and which you have chosen not to answer!

    "Such rules are identified by the use of the words ‘MUST/MUST NOT’ ”

    Rule 145 uses "MUST NOT"

    .
    The highway code can say what it likes but it's the rta that makes it a crime. Hence all the must nots are linked to via law.

    Don't know, in post#64 I asked, "What happened to the OP?", the OP is Tony Williams.

    Link works for me, if it still doesn't work, click on the OP's username then "find more posts by Tony Williams", but you knew that anyway;)

    Why not give out the links to your threads I have shown to be wrong too?

    Which is exactly why I mentioned it and quoted it in my first 2 posts on this thread, #15 & #17, it's still easier to quote the rule as it has the same effect when read with the regulation that it refers to!

    Any way I have now put you on ignore, so carry on.

    What do you mean; "shown to be wrong TOO"? Are you trying to say that i'm wrong in that thread???

    As for any others, there must be that many that you have "shown to be wrong" that I can't think of any atm! :D
