So I am scum - driving without insurance/mot/tax

Ok, first off I will explain. I had a pug106 which was stolen sadly I lost the car (no claims made) but it was so pricey 5K (1260car,3400insurance and god knows on repairs. Now one repair I had was under the car.
Anyway the car went and along came my recent one (well Nov) a Ford Fiesta £900 - I had plans on getting it insured, took me weeks to try and get a price but stupidly I (well not me) LOST the main keys and had the car immob'ed. We had sadly a house fire, losing aload of documents (car details and my licence) and only still half way through getting back on our house - anyway suprisingly in FEB outside in rolled carpets rolled out my car keys - god knows how that happened but battery dead (after buying a jump starter then a new batt) the car starts. Now stupidly I took the car OUT a couple of times to prevent my batt draining.
BANG - it happened with my last car messing the gear box up and under where the exhaust is (costed £200-£400 ish) - this again but I knew why the kerb! The kerb drop off my driveway screwed the car. So if I EVER get it back or another I am laying bricks (council want £1200 to lower it"
Make it worse I NEVER declared the car SORN when I "lost keys" and tax disc ran out and I am slapped by a third party company a £80 fine.
By the way I am not looking for symphony I just had a house fire and my car at the time was useless.
So I was confused really as the car needs insurance, taxing and I think MOTing soon but also iis it worth doing? if I goto a garage and pay half the price of the car for repairs? or just ditch it for another? but bar the damage the car was superb.
So stupidly today I had to goto the chemist 2mi only but it was snowing. Now I fully deserve this for taking such risks but on the way back I was caught turning onto my road.
Yup I am scum, an idoit - second car and barely used. The car is seized. Now my question is what now?
Do I try and get back my car, repair and get it legit or let them hold it for 14days and distroy it and just buy another when one comes along in months time and this time insure it BEFORE hand??
The officer said driving without insurance used to be points and a fine but nowadays a course.
I have the sheet I can maybe upload off the policeman. I KNEW what I was doing was wrong and have lost a car+more I just dunno how my future would be. It's god knows how much to insure a small car (£2k) now how much would I be looking at?
Ok I will stop at that. It's near 5am, stressed, depressed sorry for keyboard bashing.

Why are you trying to tell us the reason for being an illegal driver ?
We all have bills to pay to keep our vehicles on the road.
I hope they fine you heavily and maybe throw you in prison for a whileOwing on CC £00.00 :j
It's like shooting nerds in a barrel0 -
Min 6 points for no insurance and then you will be hit with higher premiums when you try to get insured in the future. Oh and yes you are an idiot driving without insurance, especially in this weather.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Why start a thread that you know will get you flamed I don't understand, but as for driving without any insurance I hope you get banned and deserve everything the courts throw at you.0

To be honest - I feel you do not seem to be able to cope with the most basic administrative requirements needed to own a car, therefore it would be better if you wean yourself off the need to drive a car and definitely not own a car until you can cope. It is important not to let a misfortune in one area of your life cause you to drop the ball in another area.John0

The £900 this last car cost, plus what you spent on the last one, plus all the fines you will get now - added up would have covered a lot of taxi and bus fares especially as the car didn't get you much use.
And if you had gone legal on top with insurance/mot/tax the car would have cost hundreds more... (or £2500 according to your other posts)
Having a car is not a right, its an alternative to public transport for those than can afford and manage one. You really need to stay away from them at the moment.0 -
What happened to you sorting out the insurance from your post on the 13th:

Op, sorry I am struggling to see what you want from us?
I would be inclined to suggest that you ask some family to help you organize yourself, you sound upset is there anyone non judgemental you can turn to for help and support, as you probably need some support right now.
I would suggest you pay your fines, sign over your car if it's impounded and accept your punishment. Write this experience off to bad judgement.
Learn from it.
Save up and make sure you can afford to do things properly next time.0 -
It is not even April 1st yet, added to which the OP is not remotely funny, so this thread has totally lost me.
At least the OP realises what category they are in - they told us in the title of the thread.0 -

You're not scum, but if you drive illegally you are not welcome on the roads.0 -

Some councils will grant you permission to lower the kerb (for a fee) and allow you to use an approved contractor to do the work - might be worth checking.
If you just lay bricks you might be facing another fine.0
