I'm bumping this because I want to show my Mum this thread and I'll never find it again once I log off! We have made a hamper for our friends whose baby was born new years eve and found a great wicker laundry basket in Wilkinsons to use to store it all in.

sorry cant get the link at the moment!
also good news for me, Ive been donated a babybath so going to put all the bits Ive got into that for my cousin
I had some aquados free samples and now I use it all the time, they do dishwasher tabs as well.
I made a gift tin for my best friend when she had her baby nearly a year ago. I waited until after he was born, so I knew the sex. Didn't have a lot in it though, due to waiting, but because he was born beginning of January I managed to get most items in sales, including a babygro type sleeping bag from sainsbury's for £5 and some outfits, bibs and teddy.
Thought I had a photo of it, but can't seem to find it now.
Most items were either blue or white, so I decorated my tin in blue and white too.
I included some personal vouchers.... for an evenings babysitting. She doesn't live that near me but does visit her sister from time to time who is more local.0 -
The most useful thing I had given to me by a friend when I had my baby was two phone numbers. One for a local mum to mum helpline that I could ring anytime 24 hours just to speak to someone if baby was driving me crackers and I needed advice. The other of course was that of my good friend who would drop everything at a minutes notice to come and take baby out for a walk for twenty minutes or so to give me a break. This is all that saved my sanity as I had a 24 hour screamer!!0

Wanting to make a nappy cake for my boyfriends sister who i expecting her 2nd daughter in May. But no idea what to put in it! Her 1st child is just 2 and she has just found out she is expecting a 2nd girl. Meaning she has MORE than enough clothes for half of cornwall!!! Lol.
She was only joking the other day about how she wont need to buy a single thing for this one and it will be super money saving!
Ideas guys?Green and White Barmy Army!0 -
Toiletries would be the obvious starter as she'll always need more of them.
Then maybe something a bit more special - that maybe she won't be able to justify spending money on herself - one good not-hand-me-down outfit, a keepsake of some kind (handprint/footprint kit maybe) - that sort of thing.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0
