Hi, i joined t mobile around a year ago was on December when they had the £8.50 a month offer on site , sim only 300mins - 300texts - 500mb ,
last week or so i started to receive some texts the following
you offer is the samsung galaxynote 2 titanuim, 24mth.£36/mth,2000minsUnlimitedtexts+data, Tmob call, thu delivery, thanks for renewing. yaaseen:).
i didn't think anything of this as i never requested this or placed this so ignored it,
today i noticed i could stream evening time which i knew i went over 500mb, but could, so i logged into my t mobile on site
and to my shock
You're on:
The Full Monty 36 (24 months)
Outstanding balance £0.00 Your monthly plan charges £31.66 New charges this month outside plan £49.41 Your new balance £81.07 VAT charged at 20% on £81.07 £16.21 Amount due £97.28
i cannot offered this and never requested this, i was fine on the £8.50 a month , i called them and they asked if anyone used my phone etc, and i know i never leave my phone , even then they dont know my t mobile password when i call so whats happened here and hope they can fix this
anyone guide me on this ?
Thanks

You need to call them and ask where the upgrade handset was sent to. Sounds to me like account takeover fraud and someone has had it away with 'your' upgrade.
Very very bad move to ignore those texts though...they don't send them out for nothing!0 -

Hi, i ignored them as i knew i didn't request it and did not want any upgrade from what i was getting already , what is a account takeover , do they just get the handset ? i have called them as its Saturday , they will phone me on Monday, but for sure will be calling myself if dont get early call from them
Thanks0 -
Account takeover is where someone is able to fraudulently access your account, either take out a 2nd line or upgrade the existing contract but request that the handset be delivered to another address. They ge the handset and you get the bill.
I'm not going to harp on about it, but you've said that the texts say..thanks for renewing. Did that not set alarm bells ringing? I know it would with me.
When you call Tmob make sure that you set up a password for the account, or if you already have one, that you change it.0 -
like i said i thought it was one of them scam texts you get so ignored and and also knowing myself i never asked for it, thought Tmobile would keep me safe from all this , yes i have a password for account, only thing i can think of doing is , is someone working for tmobile having access to customers details, will find how on monday there is no way im paying for all this , when its not my fault at all,
thanks for giving me more info on this0 -
Don't wait until Monday. Contact them ASAP.0
