It was worth it...

I used to have a diary on here a few years ago and thought I'd start another as I like writing things down, helps me sort stuff out.

Been lucky to meet a few lovely folks from this board and maybe there are others reading this who know who I am...HI!!

Having just spent a fabulous 10 weeks in South and Central America I am now back home to the chilly snow, boredom and a wee bit of debt. I say wee bit, its approx £1900, know I should have closed that overdraft ;) but I feel the debt was totally worth it.

I also have some savings and could probably pay the debt off but I like having that buffer and they will probably go towards future travels.

I earn an OK amount, have lots of bills and really should get on the phone to try reduce some of them. Not a big spender but could probably watch my cash a bit more closely. Also I'm not the kinda person who is gonna walk to the furthest away supermarket cos something is 4p cheaper.

My other aims this year
  • lose 21lbs
  • train for and complete half marathon in November
  • learn how to cut up a mango
  • learn how to cook in general
  • take a Spanish class
  • learn how to Salsa dance
  • renew provisional licence and take driving lessons
  • there are others I will add when I remember
Action Plan
  • find half marathon running plan
  • book Spanish lessons
  • cancel Sky (unless they offer it half price)
  • try get net/phone cost lowered
  • get photo for provisional licence
  • look up Salsa class
  • buy a mango
  • buy a cookbook
Again, the above will be added to :). I also want to save up for more travels, my main hobby :rotfl:

    Thank You two :) xx

Well so far I have bought 2 mangos from Aldi (69p each) and will give them time to ripen.

Signed up for 10k in June which is a stepping stone to the half marathon.

Went to book my Spanish class but it's fully booked, I emailed the college to ask if they'd consider adding another space but if not theres another college doing the course (just right out the way whereas the first one is walkable).

    Diet starts on Sunday :D

Hi ani I love your avatar :)

Well not done much at all this weekend due to the snow, am mentally preparing myself for going back to work after almost three months off!

I have signed up and paid for the 10k and half marathon, hopefully i'll hear tomorrow if they'll open up another space on the Spanish class. Mangos are still ripening ;).

Trying to take better care of myself too, was a bit rough looking after backpacking so have had my hair done (major roots!!!) and got a Clinique moisturiser I've been using morning and night, noticing a difference already! Also trying to moisturise everyday with my skin firming lotion! We'll see!

Easing back into running, starting proper exercise plan from next week and I'll be using myfitnesspal to keep track of what I'm eating. Been here before many times but I think travelling has given me a bit of a kick up the bum, like I've had some life zapped into me if that makes sense.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, I've just discovered Dexter so have a whole 7 seasons to watch!!! Woohoo

Where are you thinking of going on your next travels? Where did you visit in South America?

I want to see the whole world!!!
I went to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and Mexico. Phew! Some were only short hops though!

Was on the phone to o2 about my bb and phone, was paying £25odd a month but they've now given me free bb so only have the £10.50 line rental charge to pay plus theyre going to credit my mobile phone with £200! Without even trying! :T

Cancelled Sky, wasn't offered anything to stay so just went ahead and asked them to cancel. Not worth £21 a month, I rarely use the skyplus features and can live without constant episodes of Friends in the background. No doubt I'll get a letter in a few weeks with an offer that may make me return but I'm not too bothered just now

Have been back at work this week which has been good :). Wonder how long that novelty will last ;)

Did that stupid thing of buying some clothes in a size too small (cheapo Primark bits) for some diet motivation. I know that its a daft thing to do as statistically folk never manage to slim into their motivation clothes but I hate being fatter than normal and am determined to get it off.
