I have a very dead looking wilkinson's gooseberry bush and six artichoke tubers that don't seem to be surfacing down my allotment. I went back to the store and it loked as if half their stock had tried to sprout in the bag, found no water or light and died. The bushes didn't look any better, they had weedy paile sproutings on them. I complained at customer services and they said wait until july and see what happens but if we don't sell it then we can't give you a refund!

I got lots of bulbs at 50% off today at Wilkos. Have already planted all the begonias and lillies in pots as it was too wet to go in the garden. Will plant the gladioli direct in the next couple fo days and then the mixed 52 bulb bag down the allotment as soon as I get the chance. They will fill the gaps nicely as I planted the entire border after digging it all over on Saturday.

I also got a three pack of strawberries (dormant) for 75p and they are planted now so I shall see if they emerge. (Not that I need any more strawberry plants having planted 25 new ones already this year!)
