sorry if this information is somewhere already but I can't find it if so!
I'm renting out my house and I need to get a specialist buildings insurance , obviously I want the cheapest possible but I don't want to risk leaving myself without proper cover.
Any advice??
Thank you

Try this site. Cheap insurance could be a false saving.
https://www.simplybusiness.co.uk/landlord-insuranceThis is my opinion, a little knowledge from experience.0 -
Read through the policy documents in detail. Make a list of what they do/don't include. Sometimes it is worth paying extra for a more comprehensive policy.
Some insurers, for example, include £5000 cover for contents within the buildings policy. Very useful if you let the place unfurnished, but have carpets, cooker, fridge. That 5K covers those items without the need for a seperate contents policy.0 -
direct line was cheapest for me0

I've always used Hiscox. Not much more expensive than other companies, but their customer service and payouts are rumoured to be better than most. Not that I've ever had to test it.0

I did a search on a comparison site recently and found 3 options only given, Axa, Group Ama and Zurich. The first two were cheap with very poor reviews and the latter was moderately expense with fairly poor reviews.
I will look into Hiscox.0 -

Is Hiscox landlord insurance better than others?
Hiscox 505 is the dog's whatsits for B&C insurance, but is the landlord's cover equal to that?I am a mortgage broker.
